Warped 314-2 shaft

I gave my shaft to a friend of mine to have a new Kamui S put on it.
When I get the shaft back it's warped where it layed in his hot truck.
Anyway to reverse this?
I know this has probably been beat to death on here but I
can't use the search function with my iPhone for some reason.

That sucks buddy, I say, throw it away. I've tried to straighten a 314, and it turned out "s" shaped :eek:

What joint u have? I may have a 1st gen 314 shaft for u :cool:
 
I have read hanging by tip end works. I would think extra weight at the bottom and high humidity might help with this technique.
 
All the 314-2 shafts I've seen, even the new ones got a bit of a lift.

A warped shaft isnt the end of the world.
It's still useful to tons of people, like novice players.
I know many people would not be annoyed too much if their shafts slightly lift.

I know a few whose shafts flip like a fish when rolled on a table. They still manage to play with those. Not a big problem. Not to mention one of those is a snooker cue.

A couple years ago I bought a Predator shaft off Ebay. The listing said the shaft was straight. I bought it and it wasn't. So I emailed the seller about it. He told me to send it back to him and he would straighten it.


Well...when I got it back it was straight. He was either from North Carolina or South Carolina. He really knew what he was doing.

So...it can be done. I believe he used a damp clothe, an iron and a vice to clamp it straight.
 
predator shafts

Not to upset anyone but I havent ever had a dead nuts straight predator shaft in my lathe.

Very few shafts spin straight............................................................

Sorry this info doesnt help you .

Most glues and epoxy's break down at 225 degrees.

I straightened a Heubler shaft several years back but I can't remember how I straightened it. I know it's possible

Have you ever seen what happens when plywood goes bad? Gets wet etc?

Traditional wood shaft? Straighten it. Laminated? I dunno...:rolleyes:
