Watching The All Japan Championship

This event, before it fell off the map, was, by my reckoning, the fourth major along with the World Championship, the China Open and the US Open 9ball.

Although several events that have since emerged must be reckoned as major, it is nice to see the reemergence of the All-Japan, an event with a long-standing tradition.

I believe Jim Rempe won it at least once.

That’s correct according to Jim’s Wikipedia page at least (it doesn’t appear referenced on the tournament’s Wiki page).

But it seems like there’s some history about the Japan Open (and it’s various names - assuming they are all the same tournament or successors) not reflected on the tournament’s current Wikipedia page.
