Asking info.

I have never heard of Wayne Holmes. So I was wondering if his cues were well respected and of value. I do not have it yet. Wondering if I should buy it, at the cost that the person is asking. It is a very nice looking cue with 8 points and ivory and never used, but I do not know if it holds the value of $600. Where does his work rank with other cuemakers?
Any info would help.

He's in Waxhaw Nc. 2nd gen cue maker .Plain Janes worth $350ish Level 4 $600ish Not who I would collect but, I would think he would know how to make a good cue . Listed in Blue book pg 858

As a parting post, before I leave for a couple weeks...let me tell ya about Mr. Holmes.

Wayne did learn all the finer points of cuemaking from his dad, Orie. He's taken those decades of experience, and built upon it. Wayne Holmes, in my opinion, makes one of the NICEST all around cues you can buy, for the money it takes to get one. He's not nearly as world-reknown as Scruggs, Mottey, and the folks sitting at the upper end of the cue-food-chain....but he should be. He makes a fantastic cue...in looks, quality, and playability.

I've owned 4 of his cues so far...to include my very first custom cue made to my specs. I still have it, and always will. The beauty of all the ones I've owned is that they ALL played identical (radial pin, 59", 12.75mm). Hit and feel was the same, regardless of the materials used to put it together.

For 600 - you can't go wrong. If you buy it, and turn out not to like it...drop me a line, and I'll take it off your hands!!!! :) :)

Give it a whirl! You KNOW you can get your money back out.......from ME! :)

Be good, ya'll. See ya in a couple weeks!

Wayne Homes

One of Wayne's cues made my "Best Hitting Cue" list. IMO you can't go wrong at that price.

Some more info on Wayne, this is an interview I did with him.

Wayne is a good friend of mine and I can honestly say that there isn't a more humble and caring cue maker on the planet. He goes all out to make sure your cue commission is right for you.

I own Szamboti, Showman, Searing, Hercek, Tascarella, Mottey, White and a few others. The hit of my Wayne Holmes cues is right up there with these guys. I don't say this lightly. I say it because he is able to translate what you want out of the hit of a cue and make it a reality. In my opinion, thats special.

MY WAYNE CUES
I agree with the Diamond, Wayne is one of the nicest cuemakers you will ever come accross. For hit, quality and value for money his cues are hard to beat.

If you are intested in examples of Wayne's work click on the above link and enjoy. The Ivory cue/stirling silver is a real work of art and they all shoot real smooth.

I have sold Wayne a lot of equipment and supplies through the many years we have known each other. Sometimes he asks me to hunt down special silver and such for him. As we talk about what he is planning to do with it, it is pretty advanced stuff. Your run of the mill cuemaker would not know how to do some of the things we discuss, so I would say Wayne knows his stuff and I have seen some of his prices. They are very low for the kind of work he does.

Just as everyone else stated. Wayne is no doubt the most underrated cue maker out today. His prices are well below where they should be. The playability and fit and finish are as good as any of the other high dollar cue makers out today.

He really truely cares about his craft and it shows. I have two Wayne Cues and its remarkable how he can take your thoughts and ideas and transfer them perfectly to a finished product.

I would jump on his work in heartbeat. There is a reason you don't see his cues being re-sold very often. Once you get passed about 150 hours you love the way it settles in.

This one is my latest. Lapacho or ipe wood. I have no idea where he gets this stuff but it looks great.
