WE BACK!!!!!!!!!

We came thru with a slight amount damage. Got our power at the Foley store and my home back on. Fortunate that our power feed at the house is directly off the county road so thay get those lines back going first if there are no poles down. My neighbor 200 yards away was told it might be 2-3 weeks because his power comes from a different direction. I knew the Foley store would be back up quick because the City of Foley owns Riveria Utilities, the power company. Kinda like if you own the grocery store you gonna eat first.

Many thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

glad to see that you are back on the piling and keeping your feet dry. glad to hear it for sure.........................................mike

Thanks to all your your concern. Makes one feel proud to know folks give a damn about you.

Now the cleanup begins. Tons of limbs and debris. Thought I was going to have a real problem with the old boat. The stern got up on the pier. Thought I might have to cut the pier down to get her off. My daughters boyfriend came and helped and by using a 4X6 we huffed and puffed and worked the stern back into the water. She is an old Biloxi Lugger, the DOLORES CATHERINE, and let me tell ya she is HEAVY.

Gremie, I am going to have to put in some new piles in a couple of places. You want a double wide? :D Come on. I got some Crown on hand.

Here is a pic of DOLORES so you know what I was dealing with. She is 39.5 feet.

Again, thanks for everyones thoughts and prayers. Love all y'all, Pel

That would be easy to lift with a 50' lever using a 25:1 fulcrum ratio;-)

Good to have you back unharmed Pel:-)

:D No wonder you breezed thru MIT :D

Actually a 50 ton travel lift does quite well when we pull her to do the bottom.

Hum, maybe I could make my own - you say 25:1 eh :D

Later, Pel

Tell ya what my man, we get those deals done I was telling ya about and get that house built we will have plenty more room, then I want you and Ms Janice to come stay a few days and get away from it all. You and I can slip out in the bay and catch some specks or white trout and the gals can go shoppin' and spend our money. We'll fix enough gumbo y'all can freeze some to take home.

Later my friend, Richard

Pel,
Sorry I did not get to get up with you when I was at the tourney in Mobile. We had to exit quickly when the hurricane was headed that way. My wife and I only hung around Foley for about a day or two. Well, maybe next time.
Your boat looks almost like the shrimp boat named "Sheila B" that my papaw had for years that was based out of Dog River off the Dauphin Island Parkway. He was a shrimper for 60 years. It was always a blast working the shrimp boat when I was a kid. Eggs, bacon, and grits before the sun came up...fishing, shrimping and swimming with the dolphins by day...pork chops, steak, jumbo shrimp, fish, with rice and black eyed peas by night...and the sunrises and sunsets were awesome. Forrest Gump comes to mind...
Well, thanks for the flashback, and I will make a point to see you next time.
It was nice meeting you in Mobile. Glad to hear you and yours made it through the hurricane okay.
