We need AFFLUENT people to shoot pool!! 💡

I don't think pool is dead. It's just not what the pros want it to be (something that'll get them a house that can be on "mycribs mtv" like a NBA star or singer. That's not what pool is. Pool requires a lot of skill and arguably even more than many money making sports, but the fact is it is not entertaining to watch. It will never be a a daily channel on espn nor should it. Whether it's popular or not doesn't really effect a players enjoyment at the table, at least it does not for me. And don't say it's lame to tell ppl you shoot pool so you wish it was more popular. I've snagged other dudes girls before while hustling them at random bars. It's definitely a turn on kind of skill (unless you got a glove, a 6x6 case, a magnetic chalk cube, and all the works while playing random drunks at a random bar...then not so much)

In order to attract affluent participants to our sport, it would require that the culture of our sport be more inclusive. That would require a change in standards.

We need affluent people to shoot pool and be the FACE of pool. For example, golf is commonly known as a "rich man's game". Therefore, the regular folk always want to do what the "higher ups" are doing. That's why golf has caught on in the minority community and elsewhere. Now take pool. When someone first thinks of pool, they normally don't think "affluence" they may think "hustler or cigarette smoke" or what have you. Not exactly a good marketing tool. AGAIN, I LOVE POOL IT'S IN MY HEART. I WANT IT TO GROW. BUT IN ORDER FOR THAT TO HAPPEN WE MUST CHANGE THE APPROACH IN TERMS OF ADVERTISING AND MARKETING!! GET US SOME AFFLUENT FACES!! ✔✔✔✔

If you'll just send everybody on AZB a million dollars you would have a whole lot of affluent people playing pool. Problem solved.

(You can start with me.)

We need affluent people...period. How many poor people have offered you a job?

If you really cared, like you did to make the assinine statement you did, you knew the dates and the place for the Columbus pool school. It was posted here many times. Then you would have seen for yourself how many students there were, and how they were learning to play better from the instructors. Aside from pool school there are many students in Columbus interested in getting lessons. I've done many lessons in Columbus, and I'm doing some more later next month. Just because you have your attitude, doesn't mean that everyone is like you.

I honestly don't know how pool instructors make it , I saw one was coming here to Columbus , I wonder if he got any students?
My experience is, that players in this town, wouldn't give you five dollars for a 4 hour lesson.
{ Unless it was Efren Reyes }, they might give him 10.
Emphasis on "Might"
Then he would have to sign every pool item they owned before he could leave.

We already have affluent people who play!

Do you want someone to throw money at pool ala Kevin Trudeau or do you want a face?

We have faces.

You want money for pool?
Okay, someone gives it to us?

NOW WHAT?

Who gets the money then and why?
This is a problem that money alone won't solve-ask me how I know....

This is a pattern repeating- I've lived it and I'm still living it -we have all we need in our own hands!

Without proper foundations to shore up our endeavors, our attempts fall apart.

Stringent-

Ever been to Derby City? Cause if you had and ventured into the action room you'd have seen your lily-white Euro's betting their nuts off. They MAY not do much dope(kinda hard to prove either way) but as far as everything else, yep. Hate to bust your image. Barry Hearn already had a winning track-record with snooker when he took on pool. BTW, ALL his major pool sponsors have been either poker or on-line gaming related. Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't that gambling also? Face it, Euro-pool just has a nicer paint job and WAAAAY better sponsors than ANYTHING the U.S. has ever tried.

Derby is to the Europeans, what a open air gun range is to someone who has never shot a pistol at all, let alone on an indoor range.

They lose their minds!

No need to be restrained- that is a joy that Derby brings to many.
No need to play jam-up - they're free-wheelin'!
