Here is my current playing set-up (as listed in my signature - pictured below):

Playing: Larry Vigas/Musashi VI - Loving this thing @63Kcode 🙏
Break: Mezz PB Kai/Ignite G - This thing is an absolute cannon!
Jump: Adam Tengu Jump Cue - lovely cue, with a fragile joint, as explained below...

My jump cue took a nasty knock lately (the joint in the handle has become lose - the extension part, not the main joint), and I was wondering if there are any similar in dimensions/weight to this particular jump cue? I am considering to just buy another Tengu, as it does everything I need it to... Wish I could find one similar in carbon to guarantee a little more longevity...

The Tengu is perfect to me, It's a nice chunk/girth to the handle, is great on longer jumps, and with handle removed is pretty good on the short stuff.

I will probably buy second-hand... Considered a 'Propel' by Cuetec, but it seemed a bit slim in hand in the short time I have tried it - I don't play jumps with the shaft across my chest like many players, I am tall enough to play with a jacked up cue. The short time I tried my friends stick, I found the length of the propel (when full) jarred my wrist awkwardly... when unscrewed (felt a little short)... will give it an extended test soon and make a better judgement.

I am also considering a Kieth Andy 'black jack' which I used extensively before from my friend, and felt comfortable with. I tried a few KouFa cues which were 'Ok' - I almost bought a purple-heart shafted 'Hanshew' which played nice, but was sold before I could barter the price down. Pretty rare and unlikely I will find another like that... Air Rush is off the table, it's too expensive (even second hand here).

Any recommendations for good jump sticks?

Jump cue recommendations or reviews greatly welcomed :)
Is that loose joint tight when fully threaded? If so and you like the cue, I'd say it remains 100% functional. Some threads are loose until screwed all the way on and that's just the way it is.

I think you are right to have separate jump/ break cues.

For jumping, I really like the phenolic tips, though some rooms do not allow them, as the tips are harder than the balls and can cause damage

Vigus...thumbs up and envious!

Love that Vigus!

I'm a dart jumper who prefers the cue as light and slender as possible, so due to your style/preferences, I'm not any help to you with respect to jump cue recommendations

My best advice is to wander around the pool room and try as many different ones as possible.

I got a used J/B which had a loose socket on the jump joint. Was able to spin it out and off. Glue had cracked loose. There was enough bare thread so, Gorilla glued it. Just enough to fill and hold without splitting the wood. Works fine.

So it used to screw on pretty quick, and sit tight and flush. But somewhere along the line, it's had a bump while in case. It has some play to it now (so I can only use it with the back end of the handle screwed off).

I'm tall, and found it to be a nice combo of weight/length for 90% of jumps (I'd only remove the handle for any really close things)

It has a fiber based tip I believe? Although I am not 100% - I was contemplating another second hand, but thought I would look to see what others are recommending.

Prices for jumpers here vary (the two fancy, well-marketed options Predator/Cuetec, run high in price here - but other options less so)

Really happy with my break set-up - I was unsure whether I preferred the Ignite G to the Deep Impact Pro shaft I had on the PBkai butt before. I usually like a bit of flex, and there is no flex in this carbon at all - but now I am 100% set on it. It's a weapon for 8/10 ball breaking, and I have had really nice success in the MR break format. Good accuracy.

So happy with the Vigus :D

Thanks! That's what I am trying.

I actually play most jumps pretty similar to a standard cue action, just jacked up. Not across my chest or dart style. I only dart style for awkward/hard to reach things (If I knew how to post video - I played a wild almost stretched length of table dart jump not long ago)

I'm also in love with the Vigus. Really glad I pursued it when I saw it on here. Don't think I'll ever be wanting another playing cue.

Although rarely, I do often play with short and longer handle. I like the fact that this handle isn't as long as some out there, but has a good weight/balance. I am trying to see if anyone can make or replicate something.

Trying just about every jumper I can find in the hall until then!

Went with an AirRush...
Hate Predator... their marketing, branding and advertising is just meh... but there is no denying the AirRush it's place as best jumper money can buy (It is stupid expensive for what it is... got mine second hand from a friend for a good price)

Glad you found something that works for you. 👍

Like I said, it all has to do with style and preference.

That cue doesn't work at all for me.

Predator makes a great jump stick. Since you are in Asia, did you try a Ko jump stick?
No, I haven't tried one of their jump cues. I have tried CueTec, KouFa, Kieth Andy (black Jack), LiSi and a couple others.

Glad you found something that works for you. 👍

AirRush is a bit too long feeling when pieced all together, and a bit short with extension piece missing, but then I think this is just because of my familiarity with my old cue and something I will adjust too.

Jumps really well, can be very light-handed with it . Didn't miss a ball with it yesterday.

Considering getting rid of the branding from mine (whether that means black tape, paint or scratching it off...)

Here’s a little update. Could never justify paying full price for it, but picked this AirRush up from a friend (about $300 after conversion)
As much as I dislike predator for the reasons I’ve blabbed on about before. I can’t say there’s a better jumper out there.
It’s an absolute weapon. Hit a few good shots with it earlier. Good weight, easy jumping.
I loved my Tengu, and i have always been a solid jumper (one of the things I loved about the game was learning to jump, something that is looked on with horror by dad/snooker background). But there’s no denying that this is a better tool for the job. Makes all the other options I considered seem inferior.

These are aso in the rotation

Both are now doing three cushion Billiards doodie

Purpleheart and maple on is really cool and well thought-out. Cored, maple sleeved steel joint and a darn stiff taper.

It's not great for me to play pool, cuz it's a little thicker than my diveney and my hand keeps creeping forward as the night progresses. Annoying.

The low points are from a dark piece of purpleheart and the high points are from a light piece. Handle is a sick piece of curly maple/ the picture doesn't do it justice...c/o Danny Green, RIP.

The other one is a Schuler SLC. RIP to Ray too, dammit!View attachment 732670View attachment 732671View attachment 732672
These are some absolute beauties!! 🤩
