Weather may affect Derby

I have a friend who is playing in the one pocket tourney at the Derby.

He had a lot of trouble driving there late yesterday. Lots of snow and few exits cleared of snow. Finally arrived about 9 p.m. after driving for hours at 5-35 mph.

I hope the weather does not limit the number of players who can get there.

I think my friend should have paid more attention to weather forecasts for his traveling days.

The weather is out of here now. The road conditions should improve and the rest of the Derby should go off as planned. I am going to get out in it this afternoon and test my luck. From the news footage, it looks like the interstates are clear and a few slick spots on the side roads.

A friend of mine wants to go up to 2 days. Ive never been and the snow and possibility of getting snowed in is the problem.

We are due to leave NC tomorrow about 10am.....what are the conditions like coming up from NC?

Seems as if the weather is this way every year, players will get there as will we. I think there are like 500 in the banks.

Trav D & Myself are heading up Wednesday till Sunday and I looked at the weather next week for Georgia,Kentucky & Indiana and its is going to be clear.

I got there early Friday morning before the snow hit and left Sunday afternoon. I live in northern Kentucky so its about hour and a half drive. I had no problem driving home. A record 475 in banks. The place was crazy Saturday night, might have been the highest attendance for the derby that I have seen and I have been to everyone of them. Don't think snow has effected the Derby at all.

One of the first years it was at the Horseshoe it snowed hard and after a few days they were running out of shit to eat and drink. Buffett was pretty thin and they were out of some beer. Employees couldnt get out and were staying at the hotel. It cleared up before it got too bad. Kind of a shame really I always wondered what it would be like if Derby went all Lord of the Flies.
