Sup people! :D Finally got my website up, and would really like some good feedback.

There are some thing's that I'm already aware of, but two head are always better....

I viewed fine in Firefox (actually Netscape which is Firefox based).

1) Readibility A
2) Organization B+
3) Color combo D (unusual color combo, a fairly dark Brown would look much better for the eyes with burgundy and muted yellow - would have more aesthetic appeal). Frankly, I would get rid of the Burgundy, and go with a medium dark muted green, and figure out another color instead of black.
Poolplayers identify with 'Green', and using it is a draw.
4) Pictures D- - Initial cue pictures are not good, need whole cue picture.
On going for a close-up by clicking on picture, want to see more than just a signature, want to see forearm inlays, handle, buttsleeve)

Overall grade - 4+2.3+2+1.8=10.1 / 4 = 2.5 or a C+

I am a retired Senior Software Engineer.
 
I generally agree with snapshot9’s eval with one exception the color scheme is unique and memorable.

I like the clean lines and simple presentation. Now don’t get me wrong but I think the site has a masculine appeal, relative to many other sites and this is a positive as this is pretty much a guy thing. I do not need to hear from the PC police thank you.

I would try blowing the photos up in a new window that the user can close out instead of using the back arrow. But that is personal preference.

I would also consider telling the user to click on a photo for more pics. Murphay's law kinda thing.

I give it a “B”, “A” sites have flash implementations and some sort of movies.

Color scheme is fine. My biggest criticism would be the red stroke around the copy in your header. It is very distracting and unnecessary. Try incorporating some white space.

The color palette is similar to yours, but he's balanced it with white space and let great photography drive the brand. I not saying copy this layout, but since you are representing Mr. Coker, try incorporating a Coker cue in the home page. What distinguishes Coker from everyone else? Whatever it is, I would put it on my home page in a beautiful photograph.

Your photography is pretty good. You could improve it with a second flash source. The flash on your camera is best used for snapshots and fill lighting. If you have an external flash, use it with a light stand for more diffused lighting or combine it with daylight through a window.

Hey guys! Thanks so much for the feed back! I knew Snapshot was going to give his two cents. LOL! :p Two cent that I will GLADLY take off his hands. Yeah, Firefox and IE are having some issues right now, but Opera is good. I'm thinking this is because, when I created my index files, to upload to the server, Opera was the dedicated browser. So I'm guessing, make IE and Firefox the dedicated browsers, and upload it again, so it can be fixed. For the record, I'm using Fluid Hosting, for my hosting my site. Again, thanks again for all the help.:D

Snapshot, what do you mean by you just saw pics of the signatures on the cues?

It looks good in my ie browser, except the text boxes in the cues section are cutting off the last line of text. I like the design, the appearance, etc. It's nice and simple, which is the best.

When you build the pages, try not to overlap any objects (text boxes, photos, buttons) and allow plenty of room between text boxes. Also, you can "lock" the photos which is a pretty good way to prevent problems. I have to go through my entire website and get rid of overlapping objects because it caused some browsers to go haywire.

I think it's a clean, simple design. My first thought is the menu words should not be bold. Keep the title on each page bold, but the menu items on the left can be unbolded so the focus is on the rest of the page.

It looks like you used frontpage maybe? Dreamweaver? Anyway some program that takes a website that can be done with 20 lines of code and does it with 650 lines lol. But I'm not criticising that, it's good they put the ability to make websites into everyone's hands without having to learn arcane code.

One immediate gripe is that it has some special code that makes it generate images out of the text, and the images it's generating for firefox are completely different from what it's making for internet explorer. The IE font (lucida bright?) is much nicer than the copperplate that shows up in ffx. See screenshot: http://www.jessescornerpocket.com/cuesite.jpg

For whatever reason it's making everything in IE look much nicer, but that's only half the browser market. You gotta make sure the other half sees a pretty site too :) (also just FYI netscape and ffx won't draw pages the same way even if it's based on the same engine... and right now firefox is about 1/3rd of the browser market and netscape is only like 1% so make sure you test in firefox).

Two more things that will sound nitpicky - menu and header text isn't vertically centered in internet explorer, and the whole thing should center across the page when the browser is fullscreen, rather than cling to the top left corner.

Other than that I like it =)
Good bold color scheme and I like the IE font. The stroke on the inside of the smaller text is distracting tho and it might be better without it, or if the stroke went on the outside instead of the inside and were very thin.
