Weird/funny, "different" pool cues...

What are some of the craziest cues you have ever seen?

I saw one at Sports Authority where the butt lights up when the tip comes into contact with something. Hilarious!

Some guy on APA has one with fake fish in some sort of liquid swishing around in the butt of his cue. At least I hope they were fake!

I once saw a guy unscrew and fold his cue into about four or five sections and place it in a neat little case.

I once got my nuts shot in by a guy playing with a cue that looked exactly like a 58" Yellow No.2 pencil. Complete with eraser/bumper and hexagonal butt.

True story.

wow. I want one lol. :grin-square:

My Friend has at home a 7 or 8 foot tall cue... I'll try to get some pictures of it... I tried to shoot with it, it was impossible to put any English....

There is also the "baby cue", this one came with a baby attached....

HaHa- I have that one! One day I'll have Olivier make me a custom shaft for it and see what kind of action the flashing light will attrack around the table. I keep it right next to my Bud Light cue.

along w/ the fish cue; I smell some hustlers a- coming! CAUTION! DON'T JUDGE THE PLAYER OR HIS/HER ability by their cue. Regards, Kennyratt p.s. ever see a Budwieser cue w/ a suped up Predator shaft!!

I saw a cue once where the shaft had no taper, in other words it was the same size on the tip end as where it screwed into the joint.

Imagine a tip the size of a nickel.

I think it was just for fun but the guy shot a few games with it in an exhibition.

I don't have any pictures of it, but I've seen a cue with a removable buttsleeve that exposed a damascus steel knife about 5 inches long. The cue also had inlays of frogs on it that had glow in the dark eyes. The only reason the knife was in there is because the cuemaker refused to do the pistol in the butt that the customer requested. I don't know where this person plays but beware the frog.

i saw that cue on dr cue tom rossman's whats in the case video

I know a guy that uses a cue that has a "V" shaped shaft from the ferrule back.

He let me shoot with it. Surprisingly, with an open hand bridge, it worked fairly well.

How about the McDermott Intimidator for a measly 150K?

Hehe, that was great. My buddy saw that on Aril Fools Day, didn't pick up on the joke, and got so bent out of shape about it that he called me. "That's so flippin stupid...!" etc...

There is a dude in Norfolk/ Richmond that I played that has a cue that has a bend in the butt. He told me it was made from the wood of a tree that had one been important somehow...I don't remember, but JAM posted a pic of it once (seems to be gone now, maybe she will dig it up off her PC?!?!).

It was a quality cue, straight for about 18-21" from joint, then approx (ergo) 17 deg. bend for 8", straight again to end. He had to hold it the same way up on all shots.

I lost.

There used to be 5 piece cues. A friend of mine used to have one. I would run the rack out, and he was still screwing it all together!

There also used to be a 'walking cane' cue. It looked like a walking cane, but it had the shaft inside it.
edit: Here's a link to one of the walking canes. http://www.walking-canes.net/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=644 They used to have some quite ornate work on the butts.

Lol, I use to have one of those! It was my dad's from back in the day, I don't know what happened to it...you're right though, it was pretty nicely carved on the outside.

I used to have/carry one of those when I was in the Army back in the 80's.
It worked out pretty well too, cause the recreation rooms would have pool tables with balls but no cues so I always had my own. It also made an excellent club with the brass end cap in place.

There's at least one of those in every pool hall in Canada. They keep them by the snooker tables, along with matching (7 or 8 foot) rests.

That cue was made by Mike Neal of Lincoln NE. Not sure if he is still making cues. I haven't talked to him for a couple of months. There were some pics of it on AZ several months ago posted by bubsbug, I believe.
