I went to my usual Tuesday night bar tournament. I win my first match,then lose to a guy I can't stand.

I come back thru the loser's side,and am playing him in the finals.

I run out from an Efren-type spot,but still have to win another rack.

I break,and have a semi-tough but workable out,the kind of spot I pride myself on running out from when it counts.

As I'm changing cues and getting myself lined up mentally,the TD comes up and says this.

"Hey hold on a minute,I f**ked up,you still have to play her" in reference to a female player that had still only lost one match,but inadvertently got skipped. :eek:

I played her that game on the next table,and won,but now I have to play the entire finals again.

My opponent misses 3 different balls I'd want to shoot MYSELF for missing,and naturally hooks me or leaves me in a spot where trying to get out is just plain stupid.

I eventually get a shot to kick the 8 in,then watch the kick roll off an inch and barely make contact with the 8. He gets out with 2 balls left,and gets to go home feeling like he did something :(.

It SUCKS :mad:. Tommy D.
 
Tough luck on that one. The pool gods usually have a way of evening this kind of thing out though. Chin up, it could always be worse.

Yeah. You coulda lost to the lady you had to back up and play. Then she coulda gone on to win the money. That woulda been crushing.

tell him to bet whatever he won in the tournament and play him again
 
I might of said to the TD something like.

"I understand mistakes can happen. But, if I beat the woman are you still going to make me beat this guy twice in the finals to win? If so, you will have screwed me twice in one night."
