I went to the SBE. I was interested in what the cue builders are into now. Seems that most people are building mostly the standard accepted cue. Lots of fine stuff.... from widow makers, PJ's, to the most exotic imaginable. I talked to Chris Hightower's son (I apologize for the mental laps and loss of name). He showed me a cue he built with several thousand inlays and fantastic - amazing patterns. WOW!!
Walking around, I saw some real amazing use if exotic woods and points. Not very many butterflies. And not one (that I remember) cue with a saturn ring or angle splice.
There were some very very nice spliced cue blanks and components.
I bought some choice selections from Bell Forest for some future work.
I had a nice conversation with triple cross cues about wooden threading. I picked up a few pointers from a really nice guy. Thanks....
Watched a few 9 ball games.....Had a good time.
Long drive ... 650 miles
