What action star would you most like to see in a pool movie?

I was watching Shooting Gallery and it got me to thinking... who would I most like to see star in a pool movie? It's not Freddie Prinze Jr. I think it should be an action star such as Van Damme, cause he kicks ass. A close second would have to be Stallone. Who would you guys most like to see?
 
Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, Russell Crowe, or George Clooney. They aren't really action stars, but they sure would look good! Or Owen Wilson, cause it looks like he's already had his nose broken in a poolroom fight! :p

Now you could have Jet Li play Alex or something. lol
 
Action stars, I'm not sure. Maybe Sean Penn. I like the way he throws himself into any role he takes on. He can play just about ANY character part.

It would be interesting to see Tom Cruise resurrected as an older "Vincent." I thought it was funny that his character in "Collateral" was also named "Vincent." :p

Though these aren't action stars, I've always thought Matt Damon and Ben Affleck would be excellent choices for a pool-related movie because both know how to play. They have a small production company, and I read somewhere that there is a room designated in their office with a pool table.

I would love to see a third chapter to that story...

How about, Gary Oldman, he can play basically any role.

When chuck norris breaks in 9 ball, he puts the 9 in every time... on tables other then the one he is playing on.

Chuck Norris doent soft break in one pocket, he looks at the table and his 8 balls run into his pocket, followed by his opponents 7

My top choice would be Steve Buscemi. He just looks like a grizzled road player. He's got that greasy hair, jacked up grill, and flaky persona.

I've actually got kind of a funny story about Chuck Norris and Keith McCready, but I'll have to wait until His Highness wakes up to get the nitty gritty. To make a long story short, after "The Color of Money" movie hit the theaters, Keith was offered a speaking part in a Chuck Norris film. I just cannot remember the name of the movie at the time of this writing, but, if memory serves me right, it's about Ninja turtles or Ninja-something. Keith's character was lit on fire, and as he was going up in flames, he spewed out a one-liner. :D

I really like Steve Buscemi as well to star in a pool-related movie. He's not an action figure, but I think he would be stupendous!

How about this line-up?! Pierce Bronson as Johnny Archer, Vin Diesel as Shawn Putnam, Jean-Claude Van Damme as Rodney Morris, Mel Gibson as Allen Hopkins, Jackie Chan as Efren Reyes, and Johnny Depp as Earl Strickland. :p

Christopher Lloyd as Grady Mathews

Bill Murray as Keith McCready (stretch but Murray could pull it off)

Mickey Rourke ... lots of possibilites in a gritty pool movie.

I agree with JAM about Sean Penn and the roles he can play.

Decaprio could pull it off.

One more, surprised nobody mentioned his name (unless I missed it)...
Kevin Costner ... seemed to pull off roles ok ala Tin Cup/Bull Durham

By action star, do you mean their movie role? If so Detective John Mcclain of the Die Hard series. Yippee kiy yah muthaf******. I could easly picture him saying some cheesy line while lining up for a shot with a cigarette handing from his mouth.
 
Not my favorite

actor, but he could pull it off good ..... Brad Pitt,
and make Robert Redford his backer, manager
(Ressurrect duo from Spy Games).
 
I was thinking of of Robert Redford too, but throw him together with jack nickolson and some other old fart and have them play 3 retired road hustlers going on a road trip for one last kick at cat.

I also thought of Danny DeVito, but that would be a comedy.:p

And Drew Barrymore would make nice window dressing for any poolmovie :p :p

Sean Penn (easy choice)
Kevin Bacon
Matt Dillon
Warren Beatty (rich guy slimeball player)
