Ive read this whole thread and am surprised no one has mentioned this one yet:

Marketing something in the main forum. Some seem to think that as long as they are not peddling lumber or slate, it's OK to post something they are selling (whether it's lessons, dvd's, a tournament being promoted, yada yada...ad nauseum) in the main forum, whether starting a thread or posting in someone else's thread at every opportunity.

I'm open to buying just about anything pool related, but anything pushed at me in the above described manner goes on my "do not buy ever" list. Use the appropriate forum.

One thing not mentioned yet about the huge pictures, in sigs or otherwise, is when it is too big for the width of the screen at default magnification it's a pain in the ass. Now everyone else has to scroll right and left to read EVERY line of EVERY post on that page of the thread.

I get pi$$ed off when someone asks for the value of a cue, then some stupid nit gets on, tells him its worth $1500, when it is really worth maybe half that.

Then I try to buy it from the guy at the real value and he now wants $1500. The "expert" who said it was worth $1500 has no interest in the cue, the guy will never sell it because he thinks everyone is trying to screw him.

IF SOMEONE ASKS WHAT A CUE IS WORTH, DONT TELL HIM SOME OUTRAGEOUS NUMBER UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO BUY IT AT THAT NUMBER.

I see that almost every week here.

Ken
