hi,

It is simple, veneer sheets glued and pressed together to form a muti colored cross section.

The stacks are used for a variety of decorative features on cue sticks.

Stacked or overlapped veneers are glued around the point wood one color at a time, so they overlap at the joints. Mitered veneers are when all the colors are glued and pressed into one sheet. Then each joint is mitered with a 90 degree cut. This thread should answere anything you would ever want to know about it and some great images.

Probably most easily noticed in the butterfly cue. Stacked veneers turned down at an angle showed the construction pretty easily.
