what are you thankful for???

Health is something money can not BUY, the other half works, and has work with the elderly most of her 40 YEARS + Nursing Care Career. I some time drop by the Nursing Home where she is works now, when I walk the halls and see the patients I know what HEATH is something if you have charish it.

ONE of my BEST POOL BUDDIES is confined in an MEMORY LOSS FACILITY across the street from where she works. He is a Retired Teacher, EX Hustler in the Depression Era, it is really too bad as he no long can share his stories of Hustling for pocket change with me as his Parkinson's related Dementia* has finally taken his mind away.
 
Here's one thing I'm thankful for: Wed night I had a dream about Angelina Jolie.

Seriously: life.

The thing I am most thankful for is simply to be alive and in good health. I am also thankful for being stable at a young age.

Given my location I get to see a lot of things normal folks do not get to see.

Being here and taking "trips" all the time you get to see how economically challenged Afghanistan is. It is truly a sight to see and makes you appreciate everything you have that much more. A very humbling experience. I can go on and on all day about how poor this country is and the way these folks live but it's not needed. Trust me when I say that we are truly blessed.

BEING A COUCH POTATO,

BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.

FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.

FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE

FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING,
WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING,
AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME

FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING
I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT
BECAUSE IT MEANS
WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH. .

FOR THE PARKING SPOT I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING
AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION .

FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM WARM.

FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH
WHO SINGS OFF KEY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I CAN HEAR.

FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES
AT THE END OF THE DAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN
CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.

FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF
IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.

AND I AM THANKFUL:
FOR THE crazy people I work with
BECAUSE they make work interesting and fun!

AND FINALLY, FOR TOO MUCH E-MAIL

BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE FRIENDS WHO ARE THINKING OF ME.

THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.
