Thought this would be an Interesting Question, as I think there are many people on this Forum from Different Parts of the planet, Playing Different Games, (i. 9 Ball, Snooker, One Pocket, etc.), plus we got Young-ins, and Old Dinosaurs.....

My personal goal for the Next five years is to become a Better Rated Play, and win a Few More 9 Ball Tournaments on Full Sized Tables in my Class of SEVEN, and under in the Phoenix Arizona Four to Ten Rating System.........;)

Maybe it would even be nice to be the Strongest SIX, 9 Ball Player on Full Sized Tables, in the Valley of the Sun. As I don’t like playing on BAR BOXES....

I should say a ranked professional in 2 years, in reality though I have no desire to play professionaly, I thought about teaching as well, the problem there is Im not willing to travel all over the planet to do this.. I have one, dedicated student, whom will make an appearance in the near future... so thats my goal to get him where he wants to be.

WOW! Go for it....randyg

I'm actually playing better now than I did last year or for that matter 20 years ago. I do practice more now than ever.

In 2006 I'm going to search out more instruction in hopes of improving the weakest part of my game.

I would like to win the 2006 Seniors at either the BCA or VNEA events.

And as long as I'm wishing..........

Thanks..SPF-randyg

My goal is to figure out if I want to put in the time, money, and effort to further my game to a top level or just forget it and stay, as the real good players around here put it, as "a severe waste of talent". My mental game is pathetic. I am up and down on a daily basis and get frustrated easily. Maybe a few good sessions with an instructor and re-reading the pleasure of small motions.

To play the best pool of my life.....

I just started back, and that is why I am all over this forum. My love for pool has never quit but my lifestyle did so I had to quit for 10 years but I am back. I want to absorb as much knowledge as possible and practice with a purpose and not just bang balls around. I was a good short stop at one time and now I want to be a player that can run racks consistantly. I want to be able to maximize my potential and become the best I can be!

Same here... I would like to go professional before June 2007.. I have a lot of work ahead of me.... Compared to most of the tournaments I go to, I'd say im 3-5 times better then the older ones that have been playing all their lives. and im only 1/3 their age...

My goals ...

To correct any weak points in my game.
To remind these 'youngsters' that I still know some things
they don't.
To get my KBP Fury Wheatland tour going for 2006.
I would like to be involved with setting up Junior Leagues here.
Maybe, to instruct a little.
To come across the cutiest little woman pool player in the Midwest ... lol

Though I've only been playing seriously for 3 1/2 years, I've had the same goals throughout: which I think are going to have to be changed as they are becoming increasingly improbable.

#1 - Become a hundred ball runner. Not, mind you, someone who has run 100 once, but someone capable of running 100 monthly. Playing almost exclusively on tough or medium tough equipment I had almost decided to give up this goal as unrealistic, but my coach verbally slapped me around and claimed it may be possible with a couple of years of dedicated practice. I'm not so sure. I think my more short term goal at this point is to improve enough that SJM does not split a gut laughing at me every time I mangle an easy layout in our next match-up (this also may not be a realistic goal).

#2 - Win the local straight pool league. I thought for a time this was eminently feasible (losing in the championship last year 100-88). I've improved significantly, and can now beat the champ (who has won our league 3 of the last 4 years) most of our games. Unfortunately (??or fortunately??) 3 of the local pro's have decided to join the league, and I just don't think I am going to have much of a chance - BUT it is going to be GREAT to compete against these extremely skilled players.

New goals:

#3 - Try to arrange an AZB Tournament in Betmore's Basement. Once my house is presentable (finishing all the touch-up and decorating work), I would like to have a weekend long (Friday-Sunday; accomodations provided) round robin tournament in the basement (9-ball, 8-ball, 14.1, one-pocket, banks, and Irish billiards) for 2 or 3 of the AZB crowd. Hopefully the winner to play a prominent local pro at the end. A good way to inaugurate the pool room.

#4 - Play as many pro's as possible in 14.1 - I've been beaten already by some of the best players on earth (Archer, Lee, Breedlove, Rousey, DiLiberto, Mathews, SJM), but there are still a few left who haven't yet had the pleasure of pounding on me (I narrowly missed a game with Efren at DCC last year - he refused to lose in one-pocket and 9-ball just to duck me).

To become an A+ player (consistant), a decent cuemaker, have some
of my billiards related artistic works spread all over the world.

:)

To finalize a formula to be used on felt;

1. So that it guards against spills and adds longevity
2. When applied will make new felt play as 2 month old felt so sloppy shots do not slide off the cushion and drop in as they do on TV
3. Does not cause the billiard balls to slide by embedding itself into the cloth rather than layering itself on the cloth

This really is pool related. Does it count?

Run 100

My goal is to run 100 at Straight, the black belt of pool. This is the goal that all the small steps are working towards, and I now believe it is possible, albeit not yet. Currently, my game is nowhere near good enough. I've just started to play again and I'm running consistent 30s, and feel I will get into the 60s before year end.

Personally, I find that goals are important. I did achieve the black belt for juggling (100 catches with 5 balls), but never managed to break par for 18 holes at golf. When I get the Straight 100, you will see me take up bowling:)

My goals are to run 100 in snooker (high run 88) and in 14.1 (high run 85). Also getting a medal in Finnish champs in individuals would be nice.

Hmm, having a 7-figure number on my bank account and acquiring a house so nice, it'd be on MTV Cribs. But no, wouldn't like to date a celebrity, just a regular underwear model would do fine for me. :p

Perhaps I'll start from straight pool first...

..to enjoy play....probably to drink this chinese wine and play all night at some dirty smoke filled place.....my other goal is to postulate than a persons ability at pool may have no relationship to their credibility as a person. An excellent player may not be an excellent person. An arsehole can be a champion. Then again, personal quality may go hand in hand with player quality. Theres no guarentee, though. So I'm dubious of looking up to players as people when I know better people to be around who can't shoot straight.

Run 100...

Tom, still haven't broken the century mark ? Me neither. Let's have a bet, first one to break the 100 will have the other one to buy a beer for him, deal ?
:p

Win a major US tournament on ESPN...

I know it's a large goal...but I want to prove to the world that a disabled pool player can have that strong of a game...to beat an able bodied person on TV...and not just beat 'em, but destroy them.

Shorty
