What can be learned from this video?

You want "helping" side spin on the ball if you can get it. This is standard practice at English Billiards where you get points for scratching. On shots along the rail, they spin the ball in off the far jaw.

You can get a little "get in english" onto the object ball. I did a measurement -- not easy to do -- and it made the pocket about 20% larger for some angles (near the cushion) and some speeds.

I've been preaching it to Pool players for over 55 years! When playing a shot down the long cushion, 'Inside/Reverse English' on the CB Helps a Not perfect hit on the OB go in. Even when the OB contacts the long rail up to a diamond from the pocket, (depends on how New the cloth is) and hit the facing it has 'spin in effect' on it.

BTW, during the 60's-early 80's there was one player in Chicago that hit shots like this, and His ball would go in where the other players hit the shot at the same point on the long rail, it didn't. They couldn't understand it.
