What Color is your Cloth?

I have red on mine kuz it fits my room perfectly. But just like 'incognito' hates it, several people on these boards have told me to get rid of it. I really want tournament blue but it doesn't fit at all with my room. :(

Blue and red can go good together.. just get some blue wall art to keep the table from clashing too much. You could find out easily enough by putting a blue table cloth over your table and adding a few simple blue swatches to your walls.

I just went from green simonis to Tournament blue and I love it. The 4 inch pockets my have been a bit much though, jesus they are tough.

Putting red cloth on a pool table is an abomination. As Howard Cosell would say, it's a mockery and a disgrace to the game of pool.
My personal table is Burgundy Simonis 860. It's easier on the eyes in my opinion. Though my second choice would be Spruce Green.

I chose the Tan 860 because the chalk doesn't stain my cues, and it looks most like a Llama. :)

Kinda like playing on a Snooker table huh? Well, one thing is for sure with 4" pockets is once you master them, bar tables will suddenly have 4' wide pockets :)

Sounds like we have similar tastes. Personally, either color is easier on my eyes than the Tourney blue, but I have a blown out pupil in my right eye from a shop accident, so bright and sight don't always coincide for me.

Biggest trouble I'm having is finding a suitable hue of green for the rest of the room. I brought some paint color chips home and laid them against my cloth. A nice complimentary green when viewed that way turned into something a bit more "festive" looking once applied to the wall. :embarrassed2:

I'll have to get a pic of the room posted here to ask for other opinions. Actually, I kinda like it, but the little lady thinks it looks like the inside of a Tex-Mex eatery.

Needless to say, I passionately hate all red billiard cloth. I've shot on tables with red cloth (not Simonis), and I couldn't stand it. It was somewhat painful on my eyes after shooting on it for a few hours.

If you also want to ruin your cue, just get some matching red chalk to go with your red cloth. You'll never get all of the red out of your ferrule or your shaft.

I've seen bright red tables, and depending on the lighting it can be hard on the eyes I agree. Burgundy is a darker, softer shade of red. I use Silver Cup Plum chalk, instead of the Burgundy because it's just a tad darker. I also don't grind my cue tip with the chalk, so there is never chalk on my ferrule or my shaft. When you put your tip inside the chalk and grind away, you can be sure that most of the chalk is going to fall down the length of your ferrule and shaft because you are literally grinding it away. I teach my students to put their stick butts on the floor and "paint" the chalk onto the tip. You always see how much you are getting, you don't miss any spots, and you don't have a multi -colored shaft.

I suggested this to the mrs. But she says it won't wrk. My room is beige with one wine-colored wall. She says the artwork won't be enough to make it match.
