What Cue Builders/Cuemakers are building there own FULL Spliced BLANKS?

Leon Sly?

Sly posted the nice lookin Coco / Bacote full splice and the purpleheart maple. I know he did the first one, not sure on 2nd.

I think many builders are getting back to it. It's a great technique & fairly simple once the machinery is set up. Wes Hunter & myself are working on a set of jigs to do very accurate & clean splices. The intention is to do veneered full splice cues with the long points like the old Titleists. He already makes his own veneers out of hard maple, so I think once we get things dialed in we'll be putting out some superb blanks.

Hey Eric...since you'll JUST be getting started with full splices...I can safely assume you don't have any orders for them currently...RIGHT? LOL
I'll take like...6. :p

Are there any how to lesions out there or jigs, picts, anything? I would like to learn how to do it also. Feel free to PM!

Thanks,
Mark

I believe Chris Hightowers book covers it. Burton Spain's book does as well. The process is fairly simple to do. Creating good repeatable jigs and preferably dedicated machines makes the job easier. It will be easier if you buy a book with pictures but if you want a verbal rundown on how it is done call me at 720 206 4034 Chris.

If I am not mistaken, I believe Murray Tucker makes his own. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Murray does indeed craft his own FS blanks...I can attest to their beauty and quality! Some of THE best players I have ever owned!!

An example of what he has coming...this was one of his first veneered blanks attempt...which he wasn't completely happy with...which means the next ones will be amazing!
