What cue weight do you play with?

Myron player right at 19.4 oz./ little forward weighted

Myron breaker right at 18 oz./ easier to swing/ I'm old.:grin::grin:

I tend to switch between different weights, but my main player is around 21 and 1/2 oz. I find it gets through the ball cleaner and follow and spin shots can be played smoothly and with minimal effort, especially in slow or humid conditions (which is common here).

In fast conditions, though, I'll sometimes switch to a more standard 19 oz for less power and more control, and more of a compact punch-stroke style of play.

About 19 oz.

My 2 Diviney players are made from cocobolo and ebony, both heavy wood with no weight bolt. I asked Pat to keep them as close to 19 oz. as possible. Never weighed them.

22 ozs for me .. take that you light weight motha' punchers !! .. :thumbup:
are you sure that is the weight?? I think balance changes with weight bolt changes, and is a big factor to consider! I weighed my predators ,they were lighter than printed on butt!!!:angry:

If light cues are better for break speed why do you not see guys breaking with their very light and short jump cues?????:thumbup:

I am curious how many have experimented with cue weights. Do you now play with a heavier or lighter cue then you once did? Did it make any noticeable difference in your game one way or the other.

I believe the balance of a cue is more important than an exact weight. i like a forward balanced cue and my preference is for an ebony forearm with a flat faced big pin joint. Most of my cues are 60 inches long weighing in between 19.75 and 22oz. Tip diameter preference is 12mm but i have a couple that are in the 13mm range that are still nice cues.

In a blindfolded test i'm not sure how many people could tell a 1/4 to 1/2 oz difference if the cues were balanced the same.
