Hi Guys,
I've see a number of custom cues that have unique way of finishing off their butt cap design. Just wondering if anyone have any ideas how the different designed will affect the hit of the cue and the sound it will generate?
Here's my observation:
1) Bumper Less with weight Blot showing (Hoppe Style)...generally a distant hard hit metalic sound. (clunk sound)
2) Bumper less with exotic wood/ivory plug (softer sound and quieter)
3) Bumper with no internal weight bolt and plugged with epoxy (SW,RH) very unique sound...especially when you have the right shaft wood.
4) Bumper with weight blot (depends on the quality of shaft, joint type and butt)
Regards,
Duc.
