What do you think about parallel aiming

Just guessing.............

Hi JoeyA
It is nice to talk with somebody from States whose family came from Croatia. You must know then,Dubrovnik is special and beautiful city, one of the world's attraction.Anyway,if you haven't visited it yet,I hope you will one day.Regards to draw,YES,that is the shot I was talking about.Standard way is smooth stroke and easy shot with left spin. However, shot can be made with powerful shot with right english, using deflection. This way is much, much harder and you have to have the hell of a stroke, and to be in the same time in the mood and dead stroke.
This shot on short is much easier and almost every high level player can make it.So,if it is makable on short rail, why shall not be on the long rail as on your draw????
Hope this helps!!!Thanks for answering and for interests in topics.

Davor,
I have not been to Dubrovnik but I think about going from time to time.
I have seen pictures of how beautiful it is and would love to visit.

It is more difficult on the long rail, primarily because of the extra distance that you have on the Long Rail, in addition to having a pocket that sometimes has points sticking out. If you hit the Long Rail shot with slightly slower speed, the swerve will start to take effect and counteract the squirt factor. On the shorter rail there is not much distance for the swerve to take effect on the cue ball, so mostly you just have to adjust for squirt.

That is truth, but I just saying it is makable but not consintently. But when you do it,it looks unbelaivable.Cueball after the contact get the angle almost the same if you would played it from the spot(centar of the racking line). It cue be shown as trick shot. However,If I made it I don't see how couldn't do it some of the world's greates players.Especially though who are knowledable about the game. And there are some...
I wish you to go visit Dubrovnik as soon as you woukd find time or better to say oportunitty.Glad you was informing yourself a little bit looking pictures. When I will travel to States I will sure let you know.I would look forward to meet you in person.Anyway,6,7 years ago and before I was playing tournaments in States and traveled some.Played few games in Vegas,Boston,New York,Phoenix and played some tournaments.Started with VNEA 15years ago. That's how I begin play tournaments there.

I will venture to say that to make that shot with 'outside' right english, you would have to 'aim' out away from the rail & then gauge the cue ball defelction/squirt back to the proper contact point. That is sort of the opposite of CJ Wileys TOI. Would that shot be parallel aiming? I would say no it would not. JMHO

Best Regards,

Well,in this shot isn't matter about parallel aiming,it was something we just started to talk about.I just mentioned this shot and asked those who were included in topic what do they think is it possible or not. However, you were right when you said that you have to shot or aim out away from the rail. Thanks

Yes as Mosconi and Rosen and Hoppe did

Back hand english Yes as Mosconi and Rosen and Hoppe did and many others who spin the CB.
If all of you want to know what parallel english is then go visit Joe Tucker's website. He has a very nicely done demonstration of BACKHAND english as opposed to parallel english.

Basically, with backhand english, you line up the shot just like you were using no english. Then, NOT moving the hand from this original setting, you pivot the cue left or right depending upon what kind of english you want.

Joe describes parallel english by setting your hand down initially the same way as above, and then you pick up the hand and move it to the left or right with the cue being parallel to the original position.

I have to give Joe kudos for this tape - sorry I don't have the link. Joe Tucker posts on this forum also.

Just added a few clarifying words...
