First off, post this in the correct forum (there is a specific IPT forum on this MB in case you didn't notice).

Second, don't start thread that are clearly intended to bait posters into a bitter grinding argument.
 
Look, I'm not trying to get into a cock jousting match with you here lawman. I for one am about tired of the continuous beating of this subject.

Also, by using a handy "Search" feature built into vBulletin's forums with a few select keywords; I'm sure you could find a wealth of information on how people feel about the current IPT situation. There should be an entirely different area of the forum for this stuff if you ask me.

With that being said, maybe we will hear something different.

First of all, this thread belongs in the IPT section. Second of all, if you want to be taken seriously, dont call someone that responds a "tool". People on here are so quick to start the 3rd grade name calling when someone's opinion differs from theirs. And if you want respect, dont call something like the APA "stupid" just because its not important to you. If this thread had been started in the correct section of the message board, you would have probably gotten a little different types of responses.

i think bringing up a 2 year old post written by a pro player who at the time had no idea the IPT was going to turn into the flaming wrecking ball that it's become and using that as a spring board to stir up controversy isnt a good idea. in 2004 im sure everyone was hopeful twards the IPT, and for a lot of players gave them an incentive to start practicing again.

at the most, all you're doing is pouring salt on an open wound.

Thanks for the negative rep points. All I did was tell you the way you were going about asking for help (by calling people names and insulting anything and everything) wasnt the best way to ask. I never called you any names or made any kind of disrespecful remarks towards you. Now I will tell you what I really think......you are a pathetic little trouble maker! If you are too ignorant to know which section an IPT thread should be in, then you shouldnt be allowed to post on this forum. It is obvious that your intelligence level is lacking and probably just a matter of time before you run your "man-pleaser" enough to get you banned. I give you a week at the most!

by "they" im assuming you mean john schmit, who in the qoute you stated never once said anything negative about the "small tours" as you refer to the us open, the world pool championships, the san miguel tour, the bca 9ball championships, mosconi cup, and the world 8ball championships.
if you didnt catch that hint of sarcasm, i dont blame you.

its very very very simple math. first place for ipt is like 150,000.
It was a whole different entity from the "small tours" such as the us open, or the world pool championships just based on the amount of money difference in the prize pool.

I sincerely doubt you're a member of the IPT.

I am sure that JS simply was expressing frustration at not being able to make a decent living at the sport he loves so much, and nothing more.

Those smaller tours probably pay the bills but not a whole lot more, and he just saw more promise at that time.

Players of all levels groan about such things. Even myself, when I have to go back to small weekly tournaments that don't pay at least a $100 for 1st. It simply is a profit vs expenses vs competition level thing.

Lawman, we all would love to hear comments from pro's on a variety of topics, IPT included. It's just not going to happen on a meaningful scale. Doesn't hurt to throw out the question tho. Any IPT discussion by the pro's would obviously be ugly at this point in time.

Move this thread to the IPT Forum?

I would say all, if not most women who post here would not like that last remark. I believe most females are taken seriously here...and we do not make sexual comments at all! :mad: (Not counting NPR, of course! :p )
