What does it mean to "Slick" a shaft?

Any help is appreciated.

Generally ,I think you are reffering to the practice of BURNISHING the wood, in your shaft. If you have a dent free shaft, you can use a piece of leather or plain brown paper bag to rub on you shaft, till it becomes slightly warm. This will result in any uneveness or "fury" feeling in the wood to lay down & make the shaft feel "SLICK". A sealer can be applied at this time, to maintain the slickness & to keep moisture & dirt out of the pores in the wood...JER

i wipe with alcohol on a magic eraser
wipe clean with paper towel
and then spin the hell out of it with a paper towel around it tight till it's hot
hit it with a little wax and i'm good to go for another 6 months, LOL

BLACKHEARTCUES, thanks for your help.

JoeyInCali, I know I was setting myself up a bit with the question. Although I have heard the term "Slicking" used many times as a technique.
