What elevated your game the most

hi u all, i'm new here and what i can say is that living in a country where pool is not so played it's very hard for me to improve as fast as i'd like to, especially on the mental aspect of the game. i watch as much tapes as i can, and partecipate to euro-tour events, where i have the chance to play some great names like souquet and so on, but that's very different to daily action you have in the us. some days i run out 5, 6 or even 7 racks in a row, and maybe the day after i play awfully...

some things that improved my game were learning from tapes, being ok outside the poolhall (it really increases self confidence!), my friend sandor tot and my cognoscenti cue.

i believe this forum will be a good new textbook for me, so please go on posting good tips.
sorry for my english, hi to the guys i already met somewhere else on the web, plesed to meet all of you.

You guys really put some great stuff up here. The stop & pause with (EXTREME CONCENTRATION) for 2 seconds before a (SLOW) pull back is fantastic stuff. I spent the last 5 hours trying it and there is no question this is great stuff.the only problem is my eyes got tired focusing that hard. I've also tried it on my break and I'm hitting the 1 ball alot better.THANKS GUYS GREAT STUFF

I tried the stop and pause and slow pull back last night and the balls seemed to go in more to the center of the pocket. (Scott lee had told me to do that but I got away from it) Thanks for the reminder.

Hey, tom ! Nice to see you also in this forum... :-)

hmm. what elevated my games the most ?

I'd say, puttin my table on foot high blocks :-D

Learning how to stay focused for an entire match, even if I'm sitting in the chair. Once I started learning how to eliminate distractions, especially when I'm not at the table, I found it much easier to stay calm during a match and mantain concentration.
