What events for Top Pro's ?

Sorry if the question has already been asked, my quick search didn't show what I was looking for.

I'm new here, thus, not dialed in on which events to look closely at. I am hoping to attend one of the events where most of the Top Pro's show-up at..... but I'm not sure which tournaments those are. I've looked at the tours & events and calendar of tournaments tabs above, but looks like there are a lot of tournaments most every weekend. Confusing to me.

I know the Derby and Open and maybe a few others, but really looking to learn what is considered the Top 10 or 15 tournaments. (8 ball and/or 9/10 ball)

On a side note, what is the Top 5 International events ?

Thank you for any help.

Is Texas Big?

I think white diamonds is your best bet, by car.

Us open or dcc, by plane.

I should mention, I travel a lot.... location in the us isn't really important. I often have free time while on the road, especially weekends. If I know the events and then dates, I'll schedule a business trip to the area on purpose.

Not a lot of events in Texas from what I could tell that brings the top players.... but not even sure about that.

There is a calendar of events on the http://azbilliards.com home page. There is also a list of tours and events there. There is also a "People" tab that allows you to find which events a favorite player has cashed in. That's a good indicator of where they'll be this year.

US Open 9 ball
Mosconi Cup
DCC
Various CSI events, listed here: http://www.playcsipool.com/upcoming-events.html
American Straight Pool Championships
SuperBilliardsExpo

International? Mosconi Cup in even years. Eurotour events. World championships. Carom. Snooker.

I think if you go to just one, or if your goal is to see all the best in one place, us open has got to be your choice.

Since you are out and about, you're location is kind of the main factor in the which question.

Colander. Definitely.

Thanks for the replies !

What I really want is to spend a day watching the best.... I'm an amateur that enjoys watching high quality pool. Plus, I've never done it before... so I plan on making an event or two. But, I am hoping on whatever event I see, will have guys like Shaw, SVB, Morra, Gomez, etc.... are all playing. Or at least most of them.

I'm thinking that big bar table event.... I can relate.

Thank you for the information. I'll figure out what to show up for.

Then if you wanna play, I say super billiards expo. Or the white diamonds one(s?). Sbehas no field limit, I think.

The Texas open typically has quite a few top pros. They have the 10 ball coming up in a few weekends and then the 9 ball is typically Labor Day weekend. The final of the one of the recent events there was Morra vs Woodward. Rodney Morris, Bergman and a slew of others were there. SVB has won the event but don't think he has been the last few years.

They have a great Calcutta, ring game action and even a Thursday night warm up event for 25 or 30 bucks if you want to get a chance to actually donate to the pros.

The only downside is that skinny bobs where it is held is a super smoke-filled room.

TX Open events are now non smoking starting this year :clapping:

If you want to sweat a bar table event with top pros this one has a killer field and last year it paid out over 200k in total payouts

Maybe eventually.... if I find a game that it looks like I could be competitive in.

First time, I'll watch.... maybe get involved with side bets or what have not. Everybody needs a mark. :)

Thanks for the flyers Terry !!

All look very doable. That Texas Open isn't too far.... I'm down there frequently as it is. Good chance I'll be there.
