What grade of Sandpaper?

What grade of sandpaper comes with those 6" or 9" tip sanders? I threw my last piece in the garbage if it even was marked. I looked in billiard supply places on the net, but it must be top secret stuff. Johnnyt

80 works well for almost any tip.

Coarser sandpaper is better for hard tips, and i use slightly finer stuff on soft tips.

Most likely some cheap crap. Get a few different grades from say 80 to 150 and experiment. What comes with the shaper is not necessarily what is right for you and the tip you use anyway. You can actually use several different grades to get your tip just the way you like it. After shaping I like to use a little finer paper to knock off the fuzzes.

100 grit folded over once or glued to a 2"x6" block of wood for shaping tips. This was before I got the Ultimate Tip Tool.

I make my own shapers from plastic or aluminum tubing. My favorite grit is 120 wet-or-dry. It shapes a tip well without making it too fuzzy, and the garbage in the paper can be flushed out under running water for a lot longer life.
