What happen to Pan Xiaoting?

there are no events that pay enough to justify a trip from Asia to the USA any longer. You don't see GYK anymore either though i saw on her Instagram Page that she may have recently won some sort of a "World 3 Cushion Championship" Not sure about the sanctioning end of it -https://www.kozoom.com/en/billiard-carom/news/ga-young-kim-queen-of-pba-ladies-tour.html

Edit- I have been told that she did indeed win a legitimate 3 Cushion World Championship making her a 4 time World Champ in 'Cue Sports' 1 10 Ball. 2 Nine Ball and one 3 Cushion

The first 2 World Championships, she was given a small life time Pension by the Gov't for both-only about $220 USD Monthly for each. Now if they kept giving them to her she has 4 which will make a nice supplement to her income especially in her older years. She also has a ton of REAL Sponsors now as 3C is so popular there. Her pool suspension has been lifted but she has little reason to play pool. She is doing great!

I always remembered her as Xiaoting Pan back in the ESPN days. Still can hear Mitch Laurence saying her name over and over.

This was also the Ga-young Kim era (or is it Kim Ga-Young?)

In Most of if not all of Asia-Family name is said first-here given name is said first but now that the world is getting smaller we are moving towards doing chinese, korean names 'their way'

Not sure about Pan, I know a few things about KGY. Well, this is all second hand from within Korea. The governing body in Korea is the KBF (Korean Billiards Federation). They have their own “pro” tour for pocket ball (as opposed to carom). Of course, they also manage a lot of the carom. I saw her playing in a KBF event in 2013, along with Cha Yu-Ram. She also opened her own pocket ball academy in Seoul. This is the part I’m a bit fuzzy on. KBF pros aren’t allowed to play in events not sanctioned by the KBF. Kim Ga-Young did that and was fined or suspended or some combination of both. She told them to fuck off, quit pocket ball, and started playing carom for the PBA.

Boy they really didn’t hold back on the spoilers for that video. I’ll still watch it though I’m a huge fan.

Like most mainland Chinese players, she has no financial reason to play in any other country but her own. Pool is big in China and I'm sure she's doing fine.
And, for the record, there are many "unknown" Chinese pros that- if they were to play tournaments in Europe and the US- would do quite well indeed. Fargorate is neat but it doesn't represent the Asians much because, frankly, they do their own thing.

I just checked Fargorate, and there are no Chinese or other Asian players in the Top 100 Female Players in the World. I assume that's due to the pandemic, and the 2-year results roll-off,

Your assumption is correct. Mike Page of fargorate on facebook verified this. They dropped off THE TOP CHARTS due to inactivity, but all still have fargo ratings, of course. Goto Fargorate on facebook, Mike posted a men's chart showing the inclusion of the inactive players.
