What happened to the Shonk thread?

Regardless of what I say, you guys will still see it from a bitter standpoint and not even try to comprehend how she could've possibly made a mistake. Your right, she did make a mistake and needs to rectify it. They did her a favor by deleting the thread and saving her further embarrassment. They have been members since 2004 and that's the way they choose to introduce themselves? Wouldn't it have been better to just say who she was and make some comment to the effect that the other poster is not JA instead of insinuating to some fabricated idea that the person is intentionally impersonating JA which he or she obviously is not. The worst part was the disgusting name calling at a person who is it seems a big fan.

I don't want to drag this out but I just have to say that I read her post and she wasn't that rude. I could definitely see her point too. Most of us here know that Scorpion is not JA. Btw, I'm sure the thread wasn't pulled because of her post. Someone must have gotten way out of line for that thread to have been pulled.

Both Timberly and I pointed out to her that this person using Scorpion was not pretending to be JA but was probably just a fan. She hadn't replied to either of us as far as I know before the thread was yanked.

Timberly, there will always be ONE, in particular, on any given topic who will take an opposite minority stance, mainly to get attention, by posting up offensive material aimed at well-meaning posters. Some trolls actually thrive on this type of behavior.

You are correct, and maybe offense was taken by my comments made, but the truth is the truth, he needs to have his own identity, fan or not, and not give the impression of being the real one. It, in this day and age, is a form of Identity Theft, and should not be condoned, especially of someone that is known so widely and publicly.
To me, Mrs. Archer said nothing out of line at all. If someone was giving people the impression of being me, I doubt that I would be real courteous in correcting the situation.
I have told I look like a certain Rock singer about 1,000 times or more, but I do not try to give people the impression I am that person.

Like I said, I'm not that forum savvy as to who all is who, but my first reaction of the original post was mixed between either something shocking happened with the tour to have that posted...... then my next reaction was maybe it was an April Fool's joke, (as there was one on another thread).....and each being unbelievable to me (& this one to be coming from JA). I almost grabbed the phone to call Gabe to find out just what was going on, but decided to write a message to it, which didn't get posted because it was deleted before I could hit my 'send' button. Just confusion to my feeble mind!
I personally have noticed one previous post by the poster and I didn't notice any MA responses to him, but I don't read everything.
I agree it was possibly the controversial thread title. That's what got my attention anyway.
Perhaps there was a little overkill on both sides, and they'll come to terms and everyone will be happy again!

Absolutely. I don't understand why other people couldn't at least see that this was a good reason for Mrs Archer to have gotten a little upset albeit a little misguided. To make a long definition short, after a cursory review of my work slang dictionary (LOL, 100 bucks for this useless reference book), there were three meanings. In their abbreviated form: 1. a "knock," 2. a "peddlar," and 3. "a nose."

I gave the negative rep to this post, maybe you should check. It had nothing to do with Johnny Archer or any "Facts" for that matter. Timberly was trying to run me out of dodge and you try to calm her down by stating (indirectly) that I'm just doing it mainly for attention and that I'm a troll. What did you expect, a dozen roses?.

But what really made me sick was, "by posting offensive material aimed at well-meaning posters". Yeah, JA's wife was a well-meaning poster, that's why the thousand exclamation point and all the insults.
