What brand, and what sizes should I get to supply for friends, and family that come over to play. I have a 9' table.

How often do you really think they will get used? I got some (used, with the table) dufferins and cheap chinese 2pc ones for my houseand I doubt they have been used twice.
But the nicest 1pc cues I have seen are the diamond branded ones. dufferins are nice, but the diamonds were far better.
We live in a small rural town with about 140 people. We have plenty of family, and friends that will come over often. Don't think any have cues. If they do then that isn't an issue.
How many, and what variation of sizes should one get?

I would get Cuetec one piece cues in 18, 19, and 20 oz. They are laminated, are good cues, and shouldn't warp. Also a shorty cue.
I have a set of 4 Cuetecs (18 to 21 oz) plus an extra 19 oz, plus the shorty. I also have a 19 oz wood cue.
Plan on getting to know them all when you have a pool table. The best line you will hear is,
" You can go to bed we will shut everything off and lock up when we leave."
By sizes I'm guessing you mean weight or are you talking about height or tip size?
Brand does not matter too much since they will all be of decent quality.
I'd get 19 and 20 oz ones and probably get one or two short cues (52") for kids to use.
