Sorry for not having the habit of clicking (and registering!) to a random site that is linked by a random guy on the Inter Web and not being grateful about it. If you do this all the time, I can't even imagine what kind of junk you have in your computer. If you think it's no big deal, you have no idea what the "Inter Web" is!
Lan Admin and Technician. Least I was until I got rather bored with it. No junk, just an efficient PC. Try Again.
All you would have had to do is take off the last part of the URL and you would have been left with JimbosArmy.com.
You could have clicked on enter and then realized it was only a Message board like this one. You don't need to register to read the board, but you do if you want to post or read the Ask The Cue Maker forum.
Or, instead of getting all P issy, you could have asked, What is Jimbo's Army.
And when they do, they just link off-site that requires registration
I now see exactly the reason why people post less and less here. For one, I'll make this my last post on this forum. Sorry if I offended anybody.
In this case, Murray offered you some of the best material available, several extensive articles including pictures that were worth a thousand words. Not only what a Half Splice is (Half, not short) but full splice, 2 types of veneer techniques that are used with either Half and Full splice cues. Also, Recut points which is also a way of doing points and making them look like veneers.
If you had have searched for either Half or Short Splice in the Ask the Cue Maker forum (This is a filter and an option) using the Search function.
You would have found 3 threads on the first page, 2 on the next and 3 on the 3rd page. Any of those threads would have answered your question most thoroughly.
However, Murray's was still the best articles. He is not known as Master Tucker or Master Murray for nothing, ya know.
Consider that today is a holiday and maybe some of the regulars that answer weren't hanging by the computer waiting to answer questions today.
Also, many of the Cue Makers that do answer are busy, (you know, making cues and doing repairs). They eventually get to the forum. Sometimes you have to wait for your answer, you can't snap your fingers and they come running.
From the time that you asked and the time Murray answered, I would say that was pretty quick.
To sum it up, when you and the other poster got antsy and snotty, of course there was a lack of other makers answering. Both of you made it worth their while to not show up.
Part of the trick is in how you ask the question, show respect and express appreciation in whatever answer you do get by saying thanks.
But sorry for inconveniencing both of you little Buck Shots.
You get back what you put into this forum.
Hope the door didn't bruise your sensitive little behinds when leaving.
