What is in your case? 2017

The cues in my thread are from four heralded cue-makers.

The first two cues in the photos are from Jerry Rauenzahn. The flame veneers
cue is from Ed Prewitt. The first 2 cues in the bottom photo were made by Bob
Owen and he did exceptional work on both of the custom cues that I designed.
The bottom cue with purple & green veneers was made by Tim Scruggs (R.I.P.)

Bob did such a great job executing the propellor design that I ordered a 2nd cue
right after receiving it. I'll readily admit that I screwed up what could have been a
fabulous design by telling Bob to use a dark stain. That cue would look better sans
stain & should have used a white veneer instead of orange because the veneers are
too dark with the forearm stain. I screwed up the design and regret doing it but the
darn cue plays so sweet that it doesn't matter any more. And the fancy peacock cue,
Bob produced turned out absolutely stunning, truly excellent in ever aspect....A+++.

That really blows that you had to settle for lesser equipment than you really wanted because people suck & feel that theft is acceptable.

Sure does. And now I keep my case under the table when I'm playing. I also keep, and have for years, all my quarters on the ledge right below the mechanism you put the quarters into. I've had at least 3 little kids try to steal quarters right in front of me. And I'm constantly getting sharked by kids wanting to watch while they have their hands on the rails and trying to talk to me lol. It's why I started playing with headphones on. The downside of playing in a bowling alley game room. But best tables in town, no drunks and only fifty cents a rack. Have to take the bad with the good I guess.

I already posted mine in the JB thread, but I'll throw mine in here.

My case is a JB 2x4 leather Mason with a little bit of tooling on the pockets. I love this case.

Cues are my 60" rosewood into birdseye full splice Tascarella and a Jacoby Edge break cue.

The excess crap is: a pair of joint protectors I don't use, coins, a couple of tip shapers, an extra G2 hard tip, a microfiber cloth that I use for wiping down my cues after playing, one piece of master chalk, some gum, some bluetooth headphones I don't use, and three mid-cue extensions I don't use.

How do you like that Mezz break cue? Do you find the H shaft too heavy?

I like the balance of the cue being that it is more forward-balanced. The shaft is around 5.6 oz. Despite that, it does not feel heavy at all. Total weight of the break cue is around 19.7 oz. & since some of the weight is in the front/mid section it still feels nice.

The other things I have to get used to are:
1. the stiffness of the shaft
2. the Sonic tip
3. as well as the taper.

The H shaft w/o a doubt is the stiffest of all the production brands imo. I find that the OB Speed shaft is almost as stiff.

The taper imo could be better. If just feels a bit too fat. The H, R & DI II shafts have the same or similar tapers if I am not mistaken. As far as ideal taper, my vote goes to the BK3 break shaft.
