What is it that you enjoy the most in the game of pool?

I enjoy the playful camaradarie, as well as the soul inspiring fellowship and interaction I share with my fellow players, each time I'm at the pool hall.
Just to see the look on their sorry ass faces when I go eignt and...what? It can't be all good.

What's the most rewarding/appealing aspect of pool for you.

The times spent with friends playing for 'fun' are the memories that I don't seem to ever forget, and if they are relatively novice to the game I really enjoy sharing whatever knowledge I have to get them to the next level or just to show them how the game should be played.

I have been getting better at just barely missing balls. Driving the object ball into the rubber right next to the pocket is where its at for me.
I jump up and yell "TIGHT POCKETS"......then I do it again.

I've always enjoyed the playing. Just pushing myself to run out, the feeling of the cloth under my bridge hand, the sound of the shot, the atmosphere of the pool hall, watching other play between shots, looking for patterns on the break, picking a line and shooting, English and the art of making shape, pulling my cue out of the case and assembling it. I like the whole experience.

What I hate is sore losers. :)

Friends

Friendships.......through pool i have made some of my most rewarding friendships. In fact through a roundabout way my wife of 21 years whom i met 22 years ago is part of my pool story.
Who would have ever thought back when i started hitting balls that that would be the case....... Thank god for good friends in the game of life and pool

New cloth..its so smooth an silky feeling..makes me feel warm all over..
the clicking of the balls as there sent in the way home..
I enjoy the self inflected frastration while trying to get through drills.
But over all I like play with friends.

The thing I enjoy most about pool is when I am at the table nothing else matters. I am almost certain that the roof could blow off while I am shooting and I wouldn't even notice until later. When I am shooting there is nothing else besides my cue, the felt, the balls, and 6 pockets.

I enjoy learning how to rack and break the balls in a certain/same/exact pattern and running out over and over and telling myself while looking in a mirror how awesome I am.

Every rack is a new experience. I don't think I've ever taken the same shot twice and I hope I never do. Also the feeling you get from a break and run. That's the best

Cues. I love them. Each one is a work of art. Production, custom, whatever. I just love pool cues.

Just getting out of the house, clicking the balls...trying to improve, even though I didn't really take up the game until past age 50. There is immense satisfaction in trying, then making, a difficult (for me) shot.

Knowing that there is a "best" shot each time up and trying to figure it out/execute it properly.
