What is the Best chalk?

Or is there not best chalk? Just color on the table, and use same color on chalk?

Or is it what tip you are using?

What chalk would you propose?

Chalk

Best high range = Kamui
Best mid range = Blue Diamond
Best cheap = Masters

Tips

Best high range = Kamui Black Medium
Best mid range = ???
Best cheap = Triangles.

All very subjective of course.

Master blue chalk pre-flag. Someone said thats what Efern is using. Don't know if it is true. But thats what I will use from now on. :D

This post just about nails it!!!

Maniac (greatly respects the term "subjective")

Tips

Best high range = Moori medium and Kamui Black Medium (I like the look of the kamui black though)

The best chalk I have played with is the Kamui chalk.
As for the best cue tips, it all depends on your cue and stroke. Tips are very subjective even on the same cue.All that said, I very much like the BlackKing Hard tips with Kamui chalk.

The Kamui is the best chalk... Now is it 27 bucks better than a cube of blue diamond? For most players maybe not... For me I like it and will fade the sticker shock... Keep tuned to this channel for lots of crying and snot slinging when I lose the piece I just bought........

"best chalk"? i dont know why people spend 25 bucks on a cube just because "it prevents misscues"

im using master chalk on a moori tip and had no misscue since months...
+master is cheap, the moori doesnt mushroom at all and has after 1 year more than half of the tip left (i dont scruff it that much)

most of the people in my club play master or blue diamond and have no problem with using them.

tips are just a matter of taste, try till you find your favorite and stay with it

I like your style. Your experiece mirrors mine. I use Master's Blue and a Moori soft. Miscues are rare.

I don't have any preference for chalk.

For tips though, the Tiger Onyx is the best I've tried. I loved when I installed sanded mine the first time, it had a dense coat of soft velvet fibers on top that grab chalk like crazy. They stay that way too without mushrooming and barely any maintenance.

Kamui black tips are great too. I've used the medium and Super soft, but after a few hours of play they do tend to slick over a bit, and the chalk retention isn't quite as good as the Onyx. They're a close second.

How do the Onyx & Kamui black compare in terms of hit? I love the firmness of the Kamui, but it does glaze a bit, as you say.

To me, it seems the Kamui M is slightly firmer than the Onyx, and the Onyx is firmer than the SS. The Onyx tip is also bit shorter which may contribute to that feeling. I use a pretty stiff hitting cue, and the Onyx is a great feeling combination with it.

I don't have preference for chalk. some say Kamui chalk are great because it prevents miscues, which is what chalks are made for --to prevent miscues, so there isn't an advantage if we compare it. price wise, kamui are 100 times more expensive than master, some say that you only need to chalk once and it will last a long time; but when you are in a race to 11 with a thousand dollars on the line, would you really risk only chalking once during the entire set?

anyways, these "what's the best" posts are very useless because everyone has his own opinion on what's the best. one hundred people could come up with one hundred different answers. the question is what's the best that suits you!?

I just tried kamui 2 nights ago for the first time. I shot just the same as I did with masters. I prefer to chalk between shots. Kamui is a waste of money, end of story.
