what is the best cue case for the money.

case

I have a beauty that you might be interested in. It's rugged, beautiful, and brand new. I am also into trades if you don't want to part with cash. Text 207-266-0637 for photos and discussion.

Volturi or Justis if you want a nice case! I would stay away from the Chinese crap unless you are in China! It will cost $150 to ship both ways for it to be repaired!

Well said. Pay $475 for a tribal case for Volturi. It looks good, its tough and will be a case of a lifetime. :)

Yeah, definitely stay away from the Chinese crap.

HOWEVER if you're okay with the HIGHEST quality of protection and durability then go with a JB CUSTOM case. Made in CHINA.

And don't worry about the shipping "back" because you won't need a repair.

Some people are just upset they over paid for a case their cues fall out of any time the wind picks up.

Volturis are nice too. I just like Johns designs better.

Not well said. Is a case made in Indonesia better than a case made in China?

Not saying Volturi isn't worth the money. They are decent cases. Case of a lifetime is a matter of opinion. But Rigmaster's recommendation is not well said nor well reasoned. It's born of hatred and not with any actual experience with Volturi cases.

That said though what is the policy if a Volturi breaks since we are talking about value for money?

Do people get reimbursed if they have to ship their defective Volturi case back to Indonesia?

Roger has a lifetime guarantee on his cases. I'm betting if my case were to fall apart tomorrow he wouldn't charge me a dime. He's a stand up guy to deal with so I would assume even if the buyer had to pay the shipping upfront, he would reimburse it without question.

Then again, John you also seem like a great person to deal with.

Honestly I don't think ordering a case from either could go badly.

A lifetime guarantee doesn't always cover shipping to and from. I am a great person to deal with but the character of the seller is not what's in question.

Even if motivated by pure hate and not entirely accurate Rigmaster brought up a legitimate question concerning buying cases from suppliers who are not in your country.

This applies to folks outside the USA as well who purchase USA made stuff. What happens if it breaks?

We try to get it fixed in the country it's in if at all possible with me covering all the shipping costs and even paying people extra for the time they had to spend packing and shipping the case. If for some reason the case has to be replaced then we send a brand new one and I have the old one either shipped to someone else or often just let the customer keep it to use as storage or to donate to someone else who needs a case, assuming the case is in good working condition.

Does anyone else offer this? As I mentioned earlier a Volturi customer spent $280 shipping a case back to Indonesia and I am not aware that any part of that was compensated. I did tell the customer that there are cheaper shipping methods available.

The only case I ever had the cues fall out of was a instroke when the bottom fell out other than that I have owned a dozen or so cases and 50 or so cues and have yet to have one damaged by a case ,, that's just a marketing ploy
Cases are no different than anything else by a cheap case and you get a cheap case buy a expensive collector case and you'll get one that might not only hold its value but it might increase in value ,,

Roger is a good person John Barton is NOT enough said buy what you want but he will never see a dime of my money!

Jack is a great guy too oh and by the way John I do own one of Rogers cases and he is making another now Real Stingray do you do that? I didn't think so! LOL Actually you make nothing your cheap help does at USA prices! Get lost you JERK

I won't get into a pissing match about this, that, or the other things.

Where a case is made, has nothing to do with the quality of it. You can buy a POS case from almost every continent, and/or country where they play pool.

As to the original question, it is very subjective. I like to think of Volturi Cases, as most bang for buck. I have an openly biased opinion, though. (Check my signature.) It's tough to get the kind of tooling you get from Volturi, for anywhere close to the same price range. If you want a fancy case, I think Volturi is best bang for buck.

Now, if you are going simply on a protection factor, it is EXTREMELY difficult to beat JB's Rugged case. $100 for ultra pad interior is stupid cheap. It's very good for the $$$.

with all do respect to the OP, and the folks that have already posted, you are going to see some VERY biased opinions in this thread. It's kind of a can of worms really. If I were you, I would start by narrowing what's important to you.

i.e.:

Protection
tooling
pockets
customization
exotic leathers
resale value
The name on the case, or nostalgic value.
(For example, Jack Justice is a living legend. Though he doesn't make the best case in the world IMO, his are still very good. His name has a great deal of nostalgic value for many. Including with me.)

All of the above being said. It's tough to go wrong, as long as you don't buy a total POS. I carried a vinyl ebay special case for 2 years before I upgraded to my Volturi. It was in perfect shape when I sold it. (My opinion is that the best protection for your cues is being precaustious.)

Any who, Volturi is who I would suggest if you want something fancy. But as I stated above I am very biased, and Roger is my friend.

All the best, I hope that you end up happy with whatever you decide to go with.

I have had my Custom ordered JB case now for almost 2 years...Still love it today as I did the first time I laid eyes on it. It looks great and I don't worry a bit about what I put inside it.

Hey John, how much for the case in your signature?..... I like the blue.

I had zero problem with Joe Porper cases when I was on the road in the 90s. $125 . they used to be metal lined leather. Has that changed?

Please let me know of their quality has dumped. I need a new case.

This pretty much sums up my thought. Do your own research, price checking etc. make a decision, and hope for the best.
