What is the difference between Hercek and Rauenzahn full spliced cue?

An Acura? That car reference garbage is getting tired. He "owns" that classic style of cue making. With all the "insiders" here why doesn't somebody talk to some cue makers and see if they can do some of the stuff he can do? A lot of people were mad that he got nominated. You don't even get nominated unless your bad ass. Preserving that vintage style of cue making with the level of quality he has, I'll take that over a Batman cue any day.

He got nominated?

I don't have to stop reading anything, round mouth. Go load the back your V12 with all the suckers who can't play with their overpriced over hyped cue sticks and drive til you you see the bottom of a lake.

That's the problem, you think only great players can only own great cues. We understand they don't play any better...

I still think JR builds a very good cue...quality work, great reputation, and from what I have heard very good customer service....

But if your feelings are hurt because one guy is a better "artist", I'm so sorry....

Anybody, can have a great cue. It just seems like all the cue snobs talking the most, are the ones making and playing the least. My feelings hurt, from someone I don't know on an internet forum? Come on man. Like I said, Joel does better inlay work. I just don't like that kind of cue.

After reading this thread thoroughly and hearing people saying Jerry's inlay work is not as good as Hercek's, I take exception. Here are some pics of cues I own where the inlay work is stunning, crisp, and alligned perfectly. Check out the mitered box work and ivory inlays, very well done with sharp points and well centered.

And here's one of the best -R- examples of inlay work, a Palmer Tribute Model J that is better than the four original Palmer model J's I own, several with Szamboti points.

They don't even build the same full splice cue...
Apples and oranges.
I haven't seen one of Jerry's cues in awhile but you are comparing his work to one of the best in the game.
Jerry's cues are nice, but I'll take Joel's any day of the week. :)
And that is in no way a knock on Jerry.

Furthermore, the comments in this thread are ridiculous.
We all love the cue hobby, why try to hurt any cue maker? I'm sure Joel and Jerry aren't losing sleep at night thinking about who builds the best full splice cue.
Do you think this comparison is going to sell more cues for Jerry?
I doubt it.
Can't we just say they both make nice cues and you can buy whichever one you want?

Nobody's trying to hurt either cue builder, just sayin, which is the better value today???? Only time will tell, maybe when someone like Effren holding an -R- cue in Germany showing off Jerry's full spliced cues around the world says something about the quality of Jerry's work in the last few years. Again, both builders are quality cue makers, just sayin....

Agreed.

And so.... how would you rate another builder with these two quality full-spliced builders???

Tascarella????

Here are a couple I've owned. Jerry -R- RESPECTS both cue makers well. He HIGHLY HONORS both men. I'm sure all 3 men LOVE seeing their names. But, you have to say they ARE a group of distinguished full spliced cue makers of this era.

Idk.
But I like Pete's cues also.

I think it's very important we note two things. Efrin's cue is sitting on the table. He plays with a Mezz, which means Mezz is better than both Herseck, and Raunzahn.

Secondly, and possibly more important, isn't that our boy Ralf, aka Big-Tatto, with a SWEEEEET, fanny pack?????????????????? :p:p:p

We will see which is worth more in ten years. We know which is worth more now. Great cues and ok cues, great English and bad English, "your" and "you're"....It is nice to know you get nominated for owning a bad ass.

Ralph,

Don't try to go to any NFL games with that on.

Nonsense post

"It's nice to know you get nominated for owning a bad ass."
What the hell was that. You mangled my intent and "you're" utterly out of context.
How's that for good English. Any other older posts you would like to go over?

I was quoting you. Your is possessive you're stands for you are, as in you are a bad ass. So "your bad ass" is possessive.....If his cues are so good then buy as many as you can. How many of his cues are worth more than what you pay for them directly from him???????? Let me help you, 0. Also, how many of them are there? I couldn't even venture a guess. FYI, I actually like them, but in no way are they in the same class as a Hercek.
