what is the difference?

I personally like the LE40 over the LE28 based off of looks but thats just me...

they probably play about the same but from a looks stand point i think the LE40 much better.

Lucasi cues are manufactured by Cue and Case and are made in China. We sold them for a long time and they are good playing cues for the money. The 2 cues you mention are only cosmetically different and should play about the same since they are production cues. The LE40 has more inlay work so it is slightly higher priced which is typical on most production cues.

I've played with a couple of different Lucasi cues since I got my LSS 3, and they all felt very similar (and good:) ). If you decide to get a LE40, check out Nielsens Billiards on Ebay
(http://stores.ebay.com/Nielsens-Billiards_W0QQssPageNameZstrkQ3amefsQ3amesstQQtZkm).
He doesn't have one for auction at the moment, but his buy now price is $231.99, and includes free shipping, a 2/2 case, bridge and tip tapper. I've dealt with him many times, and his goods are perfect (check out his feedback score).

I've stuck between picking my first quality cue and i have no clue as to why. I'm deciding between:

http://www.pooldawg.com/product/lucasi-l-e28-pool-cue-stick

the l-e28

and

http://www.pooldawg.com/product/lucasi-le40-antique-stain-pool-cue-stick

the l-e40

i'm not exactly too sure as to the difference between to the two as to warrant an addition $15 for the l-e40. any input would be appriciated. thanks.

If it were me I would go for the l-e28

The money is not a big diffrence, but it is more to my liking for cue looks.

i would get the more exxpensive one, its alot nice and not that much more $$$, besides if you decide in a year or two into a custome cue the nicer one will be easier to flip and I'd bet you wouldnt lose much$$$ if any on it, if you play it right, find a buyer while your shopping if you decide to step up, nobody is in a hurry, that way you can find the right customer to sell to before you buy. If you keep it you have a nice looking cue, i'm sure they play the same its just cosmetics. I've bought and sold a ton of wood over the years, years ago and if you take care of it the fancier one will catch someones eye and then slow play the sale, you'll do better. its the fire sale deals is where the $$$ is lost. I loved those deals when I was buying.

the 28 has that old school look-i like that, actually i like them both, but I think the 40 would resell faster. you never know

I don't care for the 40 with all the decorations. I like a more plain look so the 28 is more to my taste. Either should play fine but I don't care for a metal joint feel.

I like the l-e40. I have had three lucasi's. They are a good cue for the money but have a specific hit with those steel joints. I have the l-e40 still, but it doesn't get much use anymore. Have you hit with a lucasi before?

I have not shot with a Lucasi cue before. I have however, shot with a cue using uni-loc joints if that has any indication as to how these cues will feel like.

And thank you for the ebay link to Nielsens Billiards. Looks like i'm getting a bridge, a case, and a taper now!
