Hello AZ members I am just curious, what is the highest price paid for a single cue and who was the cue made by?

I do understand that some transactions are not publicly known, so my question may not be able to be answered.

Thanks in advance for your responces!!!!!

Have a great night!!!!!!

I payed $750.00 bucks for a personal Skruggs from Mr. Nolan back in 1995. I've been offered substantionally more for it, but I'll be damned to sell it. I will give it back to Sir Skruggs before I die.

and it's true, I hate everyone. :]

Couldn't find a link. I have a pic of that Thomas Wayne cue from an old Billiards Digest. Went for an "undisclosed sum", but somewhere over the 100k mark. All ebony with ivory celtic knots woven throughout the whole cue. Will try and scan it if I have time tomorrow.

It was an awsome piece of art, I was fortunate to see it in person before it was delivered. ( I know nothing about the purchase price however)

Google: Thomas Wayne Celtic Prince cues.

It went for $103,000 to a collector in 1998 I believe...

Thomas Wayne is based here in Anchorage. I know a few guys who are fortunate enough to shoot with his sticks...

I think Ginacue has sold cues for well over $100,000.

One of his cues, he was offered $100,000 PLUS a yacht for one of his cues, and he turned it down. This is from word of mouth, so I don't know how accurate that is. I'm sure someone else has heard of Ernie turning down some large amount and a boat for one of his cues, perhaps they can correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm sure one of you boys or girls has the blue book of cues, 3rd edition and can locate the highest valued stick in it.

My stick's worth a million dollars right AFTER some idiot pays me the money for it:p

I'll even sign it:D

you just sparked an old memorie of mine, i'm not 100% on this but there was an old Gina Cue in a very fancy case made of wood with inlays all over it and it had one or 2 butts in it and a pile of shafts as I remember and he turned down $250K, like i said i kinda remember it, but i'm sure it was a Gina Cue and the case was awesome, i remember the case more than anything it was amazing, but it huge $$$ and IMO a good investment. I saw pics of it 12-15 years ago and it was old then.

I saw a Palmer sell for around $12,000 on eBay this year. It was given to Mickey Mantle as a present by Willie Mosconi.

Gina @ $200,000.00

When I visited Ernie Gutierrez, in 2002, at his North Hollywood, CA. shop, to pick up my new Gina cue, he shared with me that he sold his first cue, named after his daughter, Gina, to a Japanese collector for $200K. He told me that prior to accepting the offer, he had received multiple offers for the cue in excess of $100K, all of which he turned down! I would have to believe that must be the most ever paid for a cue but have no way to verify?
