What is the highest run record for all games?

That must be Nick van den Berg. And Yes Niels has the Dutch record.
The Dutch record straightpool is by Alex Lely with a run of 276.
And Niels Feijen won 3 times in a row the European Straight pool!!!
This year Nick won the Dutch open Straightpool at Dijkje Duinzicht (home of Niels and Alex).

Got it is nice to have that many good players in the Netherlands!!!!

I had a good success rate in the weekly tournaments in Dijkje Duinzigt... mostly because Alex and Niels were not allowed to participate because the tournaments weren't handicapped. :) But still there were some tough players to compete against, Rogier W. and Don duBois etc.

And Nick, welcome to the forum ! :D

What about 3-cushion billiards ? If I remember correctly, most succesive 3C caroms is around 26-28, but can't remember if it was Blomdahl, Ceulemans or someone else who made it... Best tournament/match averages are around 5.000 if I remember right. Anyone with hard facts ?

47 straight racks in 9 ball

2,453 in 14.1

52 in billiards

All done by Williebetmore as reported on AZ (He may be in the process of a divorce though)

Under the "etc" part, you should include the break by Tom Reece of over 249000 consecutive shots. For more info, look for "Tom Reece" and "anchor cannon". The break was not accepted as a record as the public was not present for the whole, five-week endurance test. Walter Lindrum has some other impressive records at English Billiards depending on the particular version of the rules being used.

The most consecutive pocketed (or "potted," as they say in the UK) balls was by William Peall in 1890 on a 6-foot by 12-foot table. He made 721 reds without a miss.

I'm glad that someone finally pointed out that it is possible to score more than 147 at snooker.

Everyone knows about Mosconi's 526 at 14.1, but that was on a 4x8. What is the high run on a 4.5x9? I guess it depends on whether you accept Eufemia's record.

Joe Procita has the record for high run in tournament play on a 5x10 -- 182 against Mosconi in 1951.

Bob, anyone that doesn't accept Eufemia's record should likely view Thomas Engert as the owner of the highest run in 14.1 on a 4 1/2 x 9. If memory serves, Thomas ran 493 (definitely between 490 and 500). I first heard about it from Mika Immonen about six years ago, though I believe the run took place closer to ten years ago.

Well, to be "official" the record has to be done in some kind of official setting. For example, an exhibition run must be done in an announced exhibition with public (and press?) present. Practice high runs are mildly interesting, but if there was no audience.... Mosconi is said to have run over 700 on a 4.5x9, but Charles Ursitti was the only witness and he was there only part of the time, or so the story goes. I think the real test is in organized competition -- anyone can run a million on their uncle's rec-room table.

At 3-cushion, Ceulemans and Komori are tied for high run in competition with 28, both in the Dutch league. See
Ceulemans bio for more info.

Irving Crane was the first to run over 300 in an exhibition on a 5X10 (IIRC 309 in 1939 in Ogden Utah)

How about in One Pocket?

Just wondering if anyone has seen or heard of any high runs -- like 12 or more -- in One Pocket, in matches without a handicap? It would be possible to run more than fifteen of course, if you had enough scratches!
