Well, you would be amazed

It is amazing to me that some people gamble for so much money on pool, and than get short changed when they win.
At the antics an 'airballer' will pull when they can not pay.
$700 is the most I got airballed for after winning $2,000 from a guy I
gave the 8 too. I made him leave his stick, and took him to Dillons to get
some more money, and he ran out another door there, and inbetween buildings
making his 'getaway'. Now, about 4 years later, he is getting back to Pool, calls to try to get into a tournament underhandicapped, and then when he finds out I am playing, noone hears from him again. He has done this several times. I kept his stick for quite awhile, then sold it for $250 to a friend.
$400 is the next most. Playing $200 sets giving up the 7 and break to a young kid with plenty of money. He a banger and tries to combo 9 in all the time, and real lucky sometimes, so we decided to play 1 last set for $400,
and I am giving him the wild 7,8 and break. Goes hill-to-hill, and I win.
I made him show the money before playing. He has it, and so do I. He ducks
around the corner, and runs out the front door. He laid his cue on the table,
so I wasn't real concerned. Turns out, he 'rented' the cue for $6, and their
is $26 in time, so I have to pay $32, and get screwed out of the $400. He
made his money selling dope, so I imagine he has met a worse fate than I
could have bestowed upon him.
I once got 1 of my best friends in High School down $3,000 playing double or nothing (it was funny to me), but he was sweating big time, figuring on selling
his car, his stero, etc.. I told him to forget it, that I don't take money from
friends, and hoped that he learned a lesson.
1 other time, I went to visit my brother in Law School in Topeka, and he had to work, so his best friend took me 'out on the town' to hustle some action.
I was a sophmore in High School. Well, nothing was going on, so we just started playing for $5 a game, and he was a pretty decent shot. Well, I won
quite a few, bumped up per game, etc., till I ended up having him $2,975 down. I was having the time of my life, but tried not to show it. We got done, and he said, "You aren't really going to make me pay that, are you?".
I said, in my most serious voice, "You lost it to me, didn't you". He starts stammering, joking, dancing as fast as he can, and finally I bust out laughing,
and told him no, I wasn't, especially with him being my brother's best friend.
But, it was fun teaching someone 'older' a lesson ... lol
