What is the stiffest low deflection shaft out there?

I think you're seeing natural frequency and acoustics. By acoustics, if you whack something, then the displacement * mass should be equal at two equal-distance points from some nodal point. If the the mass is less, then the displacement (amplitude in this case) must be more. But, I think that study is not relevant to collision theory.

The examination of the transverse wave that is the major part of defining end mass in effect is *during* tip contact. That wave only travels maybe ~6-8" before the contact time ends. It's not an up & down wave *during* tip contact like the speed of sound wave.

Thanks Freddie.
I'm geeked-out by that but great analogy.

Are Tiger shafts really LD shafts ?

Their last two shaft, the Tiger Ultra LD (12.75 mm) and the Tiger Pro X (11.75 mm) are low squirt. They are also solid wood but use very light weight wood internally for a portion of the shaft (at the end).

When they were developing these shafts, they thought a stiffer shaft increased squirt - I convinced them to stiffen up their shafts to make them more consistent - and the squirt didn't seem to change much.

Patrick Johnson measured the squirt on the Pro X for me and it was very low.

I already bought schon cue about a month ago, but until today still can't get the feeling of using this cue.
For me the deflection of this schon shaft is too high, it's so hard to make a long shot with extreme left/right english, because the ball direction path is deviated much from my aiming...
I've tried the predator shaft, but for me predator shaft is also too low in deflection, am I such a fussy player? hehehe...

Is there a way to make my schon shaft become lower in deflection? I'm thinking to shorter my ferrule.
Or better to use another shaft eg. OB1 / OB2 / Mezz?

Any input will be much appreciated, thanks all...

I use a wd700 and it's probably one of the stiffer ld shafts, comparing to the 314-2. The ob classic is also stiff as well. You can't go wrong with either of those shafts. Also the old 314's are stiffer than the new 314-2's.

'Stiff' low deflection

Please see my post earlier today. For me, I think it is the conical (European) 'straight' taper. Since it gets thicker sooner up the shaft the smaller tip start point keeps it from getting too thick too soon. I like it better. It is more 'Old School' feel to me & still low deflection.
