What is the worst roll you have ever seen?

Sure, it was probably a 5% chance to unintentionally make the two in the side, but for it to have happened at a time when a tournament title was riding on the outcome was an unbelievably cruel twist of fate and it still rates as the worst roll that I have ever seen because of it.
I've definitely had the kicked ball come off the side point and end up back at the end it was kicked from as well. More than once!

Not quite as offending as having to take the next shot, admittedly!

I don’t think it could be considered a roll, but it certainly was the worst misfortune I’ve ever seen. Jay Swanson was playing Morro Paez races to 9 for $1000 at College Billiards all day.

It was back and forth for hours. Down a set, Jay told Morro the next set would be the last of the day. Morro jumped out to an early lead and eventually became 8-3 with Morro on the hill. Morro broke and scratched and Swanee started making a comeback and tied it up 8-8. He broke and made 3 balls and started cruising through the rack eventually reaching the 9 with perfect shape for a straight in shot about 6” from the hole. Then he miscued and didn’t even hit the 9, giving Morro ball in hand for the set, leaving Swanee stuck 2 dimes instead of breaking even. To say he was frustrated would be the understatement of the century. I guess Morro gleefully laughing when he miscued only added insult to injury.

Took the liberty of bookmarking the shot so the link leads directly to it. Wow!

I don't see how anybody says this isn't one of the worst rolls of all time. A ball literally moves off of the table in the middle of the shot, giving the opponent ball in hand on the money ball. It simply doesn't get worse than that.

Balls settling and leading to a miss? The cue ball rolling off? An unlikely fluke? Those are nothing compared to a ball literally disappearing off the table!
