Hello,
I got this cue from a trade. Just had it refinished cause it was needed. All the white is ivory including the ferrule. Solid block ivory joint with 3 / 8 X 10 pin and 1 solid maple shaft. Beautiful lights out playing cue. I know that David Barber is in the blue book of cues and curious if anyone knows what it is worth?
Thanks Brian

The cue is worth what anything is truly worth - what someone is willing to pay for it - Only real way to tell is put it on auction starting at $1.00 and see after seven days where you end up - that is it's true worth in $$ right now - nothing else matters but what someone will pay for something when it is for sale.

What? That doesn't make sense. Cues have perceived values depending on the maker- the OP was looking for an expert.

I'm no expert but I'd expect to see this cue sell in the 200-400 range. If its clean and the rings aren't popping perhaps closer to 400.00. I think 600 would be a stretch but anythings possible. I've seen a few nice cues move for more than expected.

Is that a crack in the butt handle or its just a funky picture?

The cue probably sold originally for over $1,000. Billiards Warehouse had one not far from this for $800 (reduced from $950) around 2004.

Very few Barber cues come up for sale, so it would be hard to guess the value. I would estimate $500 - $600 auction value. It's a lot of cue for the money, looks like it would be pretty desirable to me as a player. Lots of ivory, six sharp points, decent looking, solid ivory joint.

You would have to deduct for any defects - pics look like they show a split in the buttcap?

Understand it looks like it's split but it's not. It's a dark wood grain. You spin the butt end there a spiral nott with other darker grains. Thanks for your intelligent response.
Thanks Brian

It will move for $500 on here I feel, find the right guy and $650-$750 I think would be possible. I have owned a Barber cue and it hit good.
