Not in APA but was recruited by a couple of teams, actually begged, to play.
They say I am 9.
What's your level?
I'm SL5 in both 8-ball and 9-ball.
I'd like to think I'm close to moving up to SL6 in 8-ball, but I think that I take too many innings on average still. I win, but I don't close out the games quickly enough to move up.
Yet.
Yes, I want to "go up." Because I want to improve.
7 in 8 ball
8 in 9 ball
Would love to go to a 9 but just can't get there.
Usually the only players teams beg for are the 2s and 3s... May be that the league is structured differently where you are since not all 7s are created equal or 9s in 9ball for that matter... Here in Knoxville almost every 8ball team has a 7... Many would be 6s in other areas and have zero chance of beating the true 7s here.... When they were sticking more to the system and not the growth model a 7 could move to town and someone could find a spot for them... Today teams get split and you either recruit a new team or stay home.. Good for the league... Bad for the friends who want to play pool together on the same team.....
But back to the OP if you have never played they may be thinking they will manage your innings and keep you low.. i.e. have you sandbag.... You may want to find that out first because they may decide they don't need you if you are going to play all out and see how high you can get your ranking to be...

I'm a 7 in 8 ball. As for 9 ball, once I saw the funky rules I never played. To me, that's just not 9 ball.
Man, I think you got it backwards. Nine ball rules are close but 8 ball rules are way off. Whoever heard of ball in hand 8 ball? And no calling the pocket? Craziness!
