This is just for fun. I dont drink and drive at all, never, not one beer, so when I go out to play pool I usually drink sprite or coke. In the very near future I am buying a house (Tuesday!) and my house will have a detatched garage that will be my pool room/man cave. This will eliminate the problem of drinking and driving, so I will be fine drinking whatever I want. Im not asking for any advice or anything like that, Im just interested in what everybody drinks when they play pool? Ill be having some Gentleman Jack with a very small splash of coke and some ice followed by a cold frosty bottle of Busch beer when I play on my table in the cave. Lets hear some pool beverage stories!

Good beer, microbrew. Most of the time, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (brewed right here in Chico, Dirty Five Thirty represent), sometimes something darker like New Belgium 1554 or Youngstown Chocolate Stout. I like my beer to taste like beer, and I enjoy sipping on it. Once in a while I'll get a drink, most likely a Texas Tea or a Flyin' Island (Long Island with Red Bull instead of Coke).

Also, Captain Morgan's with Orange Juice tastes almost exactly like an orange popsicle with vanilla ice cream inside. No joke. Try one. They're delicious, and extremely dangerous because they taste so good. Get yourself into a lot of trouble really fast before you know it, been there done that.

jack and coker, root beer and jack, jamison and ginger ale. i'm a big whisky fan. every now and again i'll drink glenlivet or bushmills, basically anything single malt. some nights i'll mix it up with a vodka and OJ (reminds me of an old friend) or gin and juice. on bad weeks i'll have a couple martinis to kick it off. hung over days it's bloody marys and or beer.

i prefer dark beers myself. black and tans or boddingtons more than guinness . i think guinness is great but it's a hair too thick. i really dig down town brown or fat tire if i'm going to be eating while i drink. they really go well with hearty home style burgers! down town brown has a real smooth buttery taste bordering chocolaty imo.

on real broke days i'll do silver bullets or miller lite. on even broker days i'll down tall cans of steel reserve and pray to God that the hang over this time won't be so bad i can't stomach food!:sorry:. i down 6 of the tall cans of 2/11 one night and got so hammered i was drunk till 5pm the next day. i couldn't eat for like a full day after that though. it was a 6 dollar great night but possibly the worst 18+ hour hang over i've ever hand to deal with

i'm one of those guys that likes his drink! once i get going i'm hard to stop but it's usually never a problem. i'm a nice happy drunk. but to keep this on topic i don't drink when i'm playing pool (on the 9 footers that is). on the bar box i like to drink and play because it's usually more of a social event anyway. i'll throw down drunk on the bar box if we're both drinking though. locally i don't think there's anyone that can beat me on the bar box if we're both drinking the same amount!

Sierra Nevada is decent but it's a little too hoppy imo. you hear about one of the high ups in the SNVPA company going missing by the sacramento river?

i'll have to keep an eye out for youngstown chocolate stout. is that a local brew too? you ever try downtown brown? if i'm far enough south i'll rink karl strauss. imo the bets beer i've ever had. of course it's hard to go wrong with anything mexico makes. dos eques (xx) is real good with a little salt or modelo!

Diet Coke when I'm playing, if I have time afterwards, a Blue Moon without the girly slice of Orange!

Real men don't float fruit in their brewskis. Lately I've been enjoying the seasonal pumpkin ale. When the stakes get high on my basement table, I even break out the Jameson.

If playing league, I'll have no more than a couple of Coor Lights or Coke.. I never have more than one beer per 90 minutes there, due to the fear of getting pulled over or hurting someone else.

I drink very very moderately for many reasons.. 1. I don't drink to get a buzz, never get drunk, I love the taste of beer but really only drink it for the taste.. That's the truth!

I don't put myself in the situation to where I'd be in trouble if I did get pulled over. I keep my blood alcohol level plenty low.

When I play at home, it's usually water.. I drink LOTS of water too..

When I'm there to play, I'd rather drink Jack Daniels over ice. That way I can nurse it over the course of the match, and not get stupid. At least till I'm done playing my match. :p

If I'm particularly tired that night, I'll step back to a Bud Light, and nurse that till it's over.

On nights that I'm out just to be out, it'll be Bud Light, cuz I'll be having more than one. Beer is much more self-regulating than whiskey, and not nearly so sudden.

I smiled at someones reference to Glenlivet earlier in the thread. Wow, do I miss that stuff. It's SOOOOO good. Really try to not do scotch any more, cuz I like it too much, if you know what I mean. :embarrassed2:

Water. Staying well hydrated helps with mental sharpness and muscle relaxation.

Small Pitcher of Bud Light and a pint of ice......more the merrier...as I can stumble home from my watering hole.

anything over .01 can get you a dui. gotta keep it real low these days. they're laying off so many cops that the cops they have are eager to hem people up, but good!

When I was young and immortal it was Jack and Corona. Now, the way I've been playing , it should be Hemlock.
