What is your favorite SHAFT and WHY? (Predator, OB, Venom2, Gcore, other)

Dufferin Maple Shaft
OB Classic Pro
Player's Maple Shaft
Player's HXT 12.75mm
Poison Venom 2
314-3
314-2
Poison Venom 1
(Soon to be) Schmelke Maple Shaft 13mm

That's the order I've owned them in. I think my favorites were one of the two 314-2 shafts I had, and one of the Venom1 shafts (The one I'm currently playing with). Both 314-2's were used, but one guy sanded his down a bit, and it honestly played and hit way better. But I feel like most 314-2s played like my other 314-2 that the previous owner kept in mint condition.

I think I prefer the Venom 2 over the Venom1 on the bullet joint cues, but the Venom1 is great on the phenolic joint mini radial cue.

Really looking forward to the schmelke.
 
A few months ago, I hit with Pechauer's P-Lite shaft and fell in love with it. Liked the taper, feel of the hit, and the squirt was where I wanted it.

I played with regular shafts for years, and had zero problems adjusting for english. Like Tate said, its what you adjust to. Once I adjusted to the LD shafts, I like them better. Main reason, is aiming with english as opposed to tuck and roll on the last stroke. ;)

No worries, Brian. I know what you said, I was just replying in general terms.... that folks do call the LD users "kool aid" drinkers..... As far as NPR, I would NOT know anything about that, I have not been there in almost 3 hours ;)

I agree, not as easy for LD to "curve" the cb when hooked, so I just grab my break stick which has a.....wait for it.... maple shaft :thumbup:

Sealed, Polished to 600, Renaissance Wax Applied, micro burnished to 1500, another coat of Renaissance Wax, Micro Polished to 3000.

NOW GO RUN 150 and OUT!!!

My favorite shafts are traditional design from Bill Schick. Very stiff shafts with a traditional pivot point and hard tips. As close to a direct connection to the cue ball as I have experienced. I own 5 of Bill's shafts and 3 other shafts with a similar taper including an old Meucci sneaky pete. Even though I have owned the S/P for 25 years, I only measured the taper a couple of years ago. Apparently, I naturally gravitated to the same best feel for me.

I have an old Meucci Original. It is whippy, but has a solid hit.

With the Carmelli I like the Carmelli shaft.

No LD's for me, thank you very much.

As to the why part of your question, I prefer the shafts that
come with each cue because I'm playing the cue the way it's
designed to be played and felt and I like solid maple shafts
because they have the feel I am used to and like.

Been playing with an SS360/2. Like it a lot. Feels like solid maple, some of the others felt too dead.
