What is your favorite shot for...

There was a post about a similar postion a while back that made me laugh when I read it. I actually made this one for cash one time, its just a draw shot...... but its jacked up and has to be hit dead on. The layout of the balls I cant recall exactly, but I had the 9 and the cb near a corner pocket as shown. The lowest ball (here its the 3) was hittable and makable, but there was nothing to do to get on the 4, it was buried. I thought about how I could break it out.... I knew I should play a safe but I was too full of stupidity at the moment. I jacked up over the 9 and drew back to pocket the 9.

Intentional fouls

My favorite shot involves the 3 foul rule. I saw this done on TV once, and have had a chance to win just one game with the technique, but it was worth the wait.

Here is how it when down on TV:

Player one played safe, nestling the one ball between two balls on the side rail.

Player two missed the kick.

Player one takes ball in hand and shoots another ball into the cluster, taking an intentional foul, but leaving player two in a spot where he can't hit the one ball with ball in hand.

Player two has ball in hand, but must take an intentional foul and shoot a ball out of the cluster, opening it up slightly.

Player one repeats his last shot, shoots another ball onto the one, once again tying up the ball. He surrenders ball in hand to his opponent and announces "you're on two".

Opponent trys to jump on top of the one ball, but fails, game over.

Pretty cool, when it came up for me my opponent was on two and I shot an intentional foul to completely tie up the one ball. It is fun to hand over the cue ball and watch their face.........

Getting Out of Trouble.

There are certain situations that we have all gotten in and we have found creative ways of getting out of them. What are some of your favorites?

Not everyone can use the new cuetable...although I found their instructions to be great. (Today was my first real attempt at it.) So anyway, describe your shot in anyway or form that you can come up with.

Playing 8-ball: Here was my solution to getting on the 8 after getting on the wrong side of my last solid in to the side pocket and having balls blocking my path to get a round the table. (remember to hit page 2 to see how I did it)

Getting on the 8!

From the same layout, if the balls are just a little more to the left I always enjoy trying this shot :)

Wei has a cool solution...I love that bank shot! I shoot it all the time for fun...its pretty valuable in golf. ;)

From my experience, it would be pretty difficult to hold the CB for the 8, but what a shocker if you could hit it. You really need to punch the 5, so the CB will want to spin all the way around the table with that "running english".

variations of the jersey red double kiss kick/bank.

Anyone have a video/diagram of the Jersey Red bank? I've read about it but never seen it.

And to contribute:

In 9-ball, if left with pretty much no kick shot available. Jack up a little and jump off the rail into the 4.

Its difficult to appreciate the Jersey Red shot from a cuetable, but here it goes anyway...

You simply cross the OB and the CB & OB ricochet off their respective rails to kick the OB in the opposite corner pocket (see page 2). Billy Incardona demonstrates it (very well IMO) on his 1P instructional video. I've been trying it for years and just can't get the timing &/or spin down.

Another *similar* shot I love is this one...

http://CueTable.com/P/?@3AadM3PATc@3AadN3PATd3UadN4UaUh3kATd3kWrM3kWrl2kWdL@

You simply cross the OB and the CB partially jumps over OB as they ricochet off their respective rails. The key is to shoot it firmly. If you don't commit to it, the OB & CB will kiss and all hell breaks loose.

Both shots can be devastating for your opponent if shot with confidence...if not, you will be devastated.
