What is your least favourable operation when you guys make your cues?

Getting started

Starting is the least favorable process.
I'll start : I'm close to Chris H on this - finnish... I simply can't stand making extra shafts for customers! The ring work, turning and all the rest is nice, interesting but geeezes sealing the rings with CA and putting CA finnish on - give me a break.... Don't get me started on putting finnish on a cue :-(

Do not agree at all!!
I've aquired one some years ago and it's bloody horrible.
The unit is heavy since the motor and battery is in the same unit. It's ok if you have a neck like Mike Tyson-which I don't.
The unit is noisy. You hear the motor going and if you shell out for the ear pices you have wasted your money-they couple the vibration from the unit to your ears. The only way I could use mine was ripping these off and use earplugs but the shere weight made me park it for ever. This was due to the band holding the unit was very un-comfy....

I bought a 3M -Turbo system with a light hood, a hose down to a belt which has the filter and motor unit. Still some small noise but so much lighter to wear and still free to walk arround without a hose attached to you. Never looked back.

I don't build per se, just repair but I don't have anything that bugs me.
Its a hobby and I feel that I like every aspect of the hobby otherwise I wouldn't do it.

But, on any given day, there may be a couple of things that I prefer not to do. Some days I might like a particular task and other days, I'd prefer not to do them. I guess thats the luxury that I have keeping it as a hobby. Still, I have a time line. If I promise a customer a certain day, then
thats when they get it.

On a side note, I got to find out how well thin CA works on a cut as I poked myself with a blade while picking it up to cut a tip. Got blood all over the ferrule. Red ferrules are kinda neat.
