I am curious of those folks here that had Lasik eye surgery. What do you think?

I had lasik surgery in 2000, from Tiger Woods' doctor, and it was great. I'd do it again without hesitation. The difference between lasik and contact lenses or glasses is like day and night. No more fogging up, no more eye irritation, no more having to keep replacing lenses. If not for lasik I might have quit playing pool.
One minor caveat: You'll probably have to get a pair of drug store reading glasses if you're over 40, but that's about it for drawbacks. I'm 77 and I've had glaucoma for ages, and yet it hasn't affected my pool game at all. I can still focus on and make table length cut shots.

About 10 year ago at 54 years old, I got where I couldn't see the golf ball after 125 yards. I either had to start hitting fairways or get the surgery.
After the initial healing I noticed that my night vision was blurry and I couldn't read up close without readers.
The night vision cleared up within a couple of months.
After a couple of years my close visions is a good as it was before.
It's the best thing I've done for myself. I can hunt, golf, drive all day and work on the computer for hours without glasses.
My opinion is, go for it!...

Surgery don’t alway come out as projected. Think about being blind.
Do not do it. Get pool glasses from Snookerspex.com It is a company in the U.K. The crooks here in the US charge triple. All you need to do is email your current prescription. I think it can be up to one year ole. Go the the website and look at the frames you like. Good luck. I love mine.
Huh? I got mine about 15 years ago, and it was the best money I ever spent. Did you get it done and have a bad experience?

Yep, same with me. I can still pick off a fly at 100 yards, but good luck reading a menu

Not sure about that advice. Cataract surgery is one of the most common surgeries out there and along with removing the cataracts, they can implant the correct lenses to give you corrected vision, except that you might still need reading glasses. I’ve yet to hear anyone say they were not extremely happy with their cataract surgery

Had lasek done about 18 months ago, as other said, I only wish I had gotten it done much sooner. I am pretty sure I posted my whole experience on here in a different thread. If you search my username you should find it fairly easily since I don't post too often here.

Forgot to add, if you get lasix, make sure to keep your records on the corrections done as when it comes time to get cataract surgery, they will want to know what lasix corrections were done. As I learned, the eye doctor that did my lasix many years prior had retired and went out of business. My cataract surgery didn't go as hoped, and correction was not only off considerably, but one of my eyes was worse after than before. I have since been back to have scar tissue lazered off and that dramatically improved my vision, but it is starting to get blurry again, 9 months later. Not as bad as before though. For some reason my corrected vision after cataract surgery was having sharp vision at apx 10', and quite honestly it was OK as it worked for reading and driving.

Highly recommend doing it. Some may need a tuneup later on but that's expected. 2008 and still perfect.
