What kind of tip are you playing with?

I have Moori-H, Moori-M, and Tigers. All fine for my needs, but I kinda like the harder tips for their lack of maintainance need. I do feel like I get a tad more touch with the softer tips though.

That said, I am a masher:o:frown: and use the hard ones more often.

For my 3c shaft I am using a Lepro tip which feels hard to me. I always like the sound a hard tip makes when it strikes the ball versus a soft tip (pillow). For the shaft I use for the small games I use a Moori Medium.

Talisman medium tips. Nice responsive hit (not too hard or soft) and doesn't need too much maintenance. If you like harder tips then i encourage you to try a talisman hard tip. It seemed a little too hard for my taste but the tip stayed extremely consistent and i never had to reshape it.

Heard great things about those tips too. Has anyone played with talisman medium and wizard medium tips and can compare the two? I plan to try out wizard medium tips soon on an extra shaft.

i've used both...the hardness is pretty similar between the two. the talisman hits a little thuddier, the wizard has a bit more of clank sound to it. the wizard is very similar to a moori in terms of hardness and feel. both are fine tips though

For me it depends highly on the type of cue. I play with a wooden jointed cue which is very stiff so a moori medium tip provides more feedback on the hit. The drawback is regular maintenance...
I used to have a Schuler cue (steel jointed) and strictly used hard moori tips.
In the end I believe experimentation is the way to go:thumbup:

I feel like moori tips were a good transition tip for me when i went from softer tips to harder ones. I used a moori slow for a while and after it took too much maintenance and drove me crazy i went back to my old tips but those were too soft now. Haven't gotten to try the Wizard M yet but lots say those play like the old Moori's with little maintenance.

tips

Have any of you heard of the Emerald tips made by tiger products. 2 me it hits very well. For the cost I think its worth it.

Haven't heard much about it yet, just that its suppose to be harder than sniper tips even tho if you look them up on the site they have a lower hardness rating.

I have played with sniper tips before and I think that's because of the different hides used, boar hide feels and plays softer to me than pig skin and water buffalo tips play much harder than pig skin (ex. talisman water buffalo medium feels much harder then talisman pro medium even tho they are fairly close in hardness rating)

If these Wizard M tips dont work for me i think i'll have to try out Tiger's emerald tip because when i used the sniper i thought they were fantastic until my tastes changed and i wanted a harder tip.

Thanks for all your input! I decided to go with Kamui black Mediums from KOINNKID. I really like the way the tip plays so far. The tip grips the ball nice and needs no shaping. Thanks Troy.
